Math Olympiads – Grades 7/8 Syllabus – Session I

Course Description Develop mathematical problem solving skills in a fun and creative way! Be part of the Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) of over 100,000 students nationwide, of which 15,000 are 7th and 8th grade students.

Students will prepare for and participate in a nationwide Math Olympiads program consisting of 5 contests held once a month starting in November, with the remaining 4 contests held during Session II. Each Olympiad contest consists of 5 challenging word problems which take about 30 minutes in total to complete. Students receive recognition for their accomplishments and for their standing amongst the nationwide students.

Homework Students will receive homework to reinforce concepts learned in class, along with other practice problems.
