PhD project entitled “Biocatalytic synthesis of chiral pharmaceutical intermediates”. Supervisors: Prof. Elisabetta Rossi and Prof. Francesco Molinari. This project was in collaboration with the pharmaceutical company INDUSTRIALE CHIMICA (Saronno, Varese, Italy) and Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS), University of Milan, Italy.

From November 2015 to January 2016. Post-doctoral fellowship funded by INDUSTRIALE CHIMICA (Saronno, Varese, Italy) at Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS), University of Milan. Research activity aimed at the selective, biocatalytic oxidation of steroids. The production of some of these substrates, thanks to the optimization carried out by Industriale Chimica, is now on National scale.

From February 2016 to January 2017. Awarded a post-doctoral grant by Cariplo foundation (INBOX-Innovative Biocatalytic Oxidation project), at Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS), University of Milan, Italy, under the guidance of Doctor Diego Romano and at the School of Chemistry, University of Dublin, Ireland, under the guidance of Professor Francesca Paradisi. Project aimed at using ω-transaminases for the biotransformation of different aromatic carbonyl compounds in flow chemistry reactors.

From February 2017 to present. BBSRC Research fellow at School of Chemistry, University of Nottingham, UK under the guidance of Professor Francesca Paradisi. My research is now focused on the use of different enzymes for tandem flow reactions.
