Note: this is a template form, which provides an example of the format and the type information to be submitted by all permanent members of all COST Actions in the ESSEM Domain to COST Action ES-0604 Title: “Water Vapour in the Climate System (WaVaCS)”
./ Individual’s Name: Cristina Peña Ortiz
./ Organization Name & Address: Departamento de Sistemas Físicos, Químicos y Naturales Universidad Pablo de Olavide Carretera de Utrera, Km 1 Sevilla, 41013 – Spain
./ Contribution: a./ Role in Action (Mention if you are member of the action, member of MC, chair / vice-chair): Member of the action b./ Parts of the scientific programme where contributions will be made: Mention the Deliverables you wish to contribute from the Memorandum of Understanding In order of preference: D2.1, D1.2, D1.3, D4.3 and D4.3
./ Deliverables: Mention the results you will share with the Action Preferent deliverable: D2.1 Secondary deliverable: D3.3 5./ Timetable: Provide the timing of your activities with respect to the Action's timetable I hope I will contribute all along the action
./ Manpower approximately dedicated to the Action: Give the approximate manpower dedicated to the activities included in the action Has to be added up for all the members from Spain
./ Assurance: Mention the reasons why the proposed work will be done (sources of funding, availability of data / tools, etc.) I participate in two research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science where the role of water vapour in the climate system is analyzed and discussed. One of these projects deals with the water cycle over Spain, from its sources to its interannual variability. The other one is related to the impact of general circulation variability and weather systems in the northern hemisphere.
./ Foreseen collaboration: My collaboration should be related to: 1. The study of the dynamical processes involved in the water vapor transport: D2.1 2. The study of the role of the middle atmosphere in the water vapor transport. D2.1 3. To the validation of water vapor processes simulation compared to reanalysis or observational datasets.
./ Previous experience: Individual’s Name: Cristina Peña Give a brief resume of your experiences relevant for the COST action I have experience analyzing atmospheric dynamical processes related with low frequency oscillations as the QBO. I have also been working with data from GCMs as MAECHAM5 and HAMMONIA and also from the ERA40 and NCEP reanalysis. 10./ Publications: (list relevant publications since 2002)
