Regular session of the Minden City Council was called to order by Mayor Armstrong at 6:00pm on above date. Councilmen present: Arnold, Zimmerman, Dooley, Wellman, Ploen Absent: Also attending Rich Schuning, Tom Schneckloth, Phil Bintz & Kyle Arnold
Motion by Zimmerman, second by Ploen to approve the agenda with the addition of R&S Waste and MAPA Hearland vision 2050. M.C. 5-0
Motion by Zimmerman, second by Dooley approve minutes of the January Meeting. M.C. 5-0
Motion by Zimmerman, second by Arnold to approve the financial statement. M.C. 5-0
Motion by Wellman, second by Arnold to approve the bills for payment. M.C. 5-0
Councilman Zimmerman updated the council on the triangle progress. The trellis and shrubs have been ordered and underground electric has been run to the triangle. Kevin also showed the council a light diagram for the remodeled triangle. Motion by Dooley, second by Wellman to finalize the lighting plan and order the lights. M.C. 5-0
Tom Schneckloth discussed with the council the upcoming township contracts. The fire department will sit down with the townships to discuss any questions they may have.
Motion by Zimmerman, second by Wellman to authorize the clerk to transfer money from the TIF fund to the general fund to pay back internal debt. M.C. 5-0
Rich Schuning and the mayor discussed with the council possible street repairs on Meadow Lane. Motion by Dooley, second Zimmerman to have Rich Schuning get some preliminary bids on street repair on Meadow Land. M.C. 5-0
The city clerk discussed the need for a new laser printer for city hall. The printer is constantly putting lines on the water bills and residents are having a hard time reading them. It was also discussed the desktop computer in the shop is so outdated that the functionality is very limited. Motion by Zimmerman, second Arnold to replace the laser printer in city hall and replace the desktop computer in the shop. M.C. 5-0
MAPA has a new program called Heartland 2050. They’re requesting minimal financial support from the surrounding communities. The investment cost for Minden would be $100. Motion by Wellman, second by Arnold to approve Mapa Heartland Vision 2050 funding of $100. M.C. 5-0
Motion by Zimmermna, second by Wellman for adjournment at 7:12pm. M.C. 5-0
