Short Story Narrative with Sound Effects

Teams: Two or three students per team.

Assignment: Tell a 4 to 8 minute story in a narrative form, using sound effects to emphasize or dramatize moments, and to create emotional moods throughout the tale.

Specifics: Script must be between 4 to 8 minutes. Sound effects must be included in the final edit averaging 4 effects (or more) per minute. Music must be included in the final edit where necessary. Live Type text must be used for opening titles. Scrolling credits must be used from Final Cut Pro at the end of the film. Total time of story is measured from black to black!

Visuals: Visuals can be still images, videotaped footage, or a mixture of the two. If mixed together, a specific reason must be given for this choice.

Audio: Sound effects should be researched using the bond manual with indexes, and script dialogue should be centered around the sounds which should drive the story. Music should also be used for a defined purpose.

Proposal: Submit a proposal containing the details of your story (from the specifications listed above), and a synopsis of the events to take place within the time frames of your script. I do not need an exact script to approve your proposal, but will need one before you begin the assignment.
