D’Arrigo Bros. Co., of California is a 95 year old, rapidly growing Salinas based agricultural company looking for a qualified person to join our Payroll/HR team. This year round position performs varied payroll and human resource functions in Salinas with seasonal winter travel to Yuma. A per diem is provided while in Yuma. Candidates must possess strong data entry skills with speed and accuracy. Must be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish, work in a fast paced environment and work well with others. Standard payroll/HR clerical duties include: Enter payroll and personnel data in the payroll system Calculate and enter payroll for assigned commodities Answer any personnel calls, employment verifications, EDD audits, etc. Distribute payroll checks to foremen Assist foremen and supervisors as needed Register new hires Assist with employees at the counter when needed Help process and print payroll checks for hourly employees
Qualifications: Must have at least one year payroll experience with piecerate or bonus pay Regular hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday Must be able to rotate working Saturdays through out the year Must be able to work in Salinas (March – November) and Yuma (November – March) Work schedule may include OT and Saturdays. Strong 10 key skills Excellent customer service skills on the phone and in person Working knowledge and experience of Excel and Word Organized team player who works well with a variety of people with a minimum of supervision Thrive in a fast paced environment and handle pressure while managing multiple tasks Regular and consistent attendance mandatory Ability to take direction from multiple managers Valid driver license and acceptable record
