Dear Secretary 300 CLUB

PLEASE READ THIS INVITATION TO YOUR MEMBERS AT YOUR SEPTEMBER MEETING.

The 300 Club is a lottery which raises funds for SFWI and is open to all Surrey WI members. There is an annual subscription (£15) and monthly draws are held for cash prizes. Twice a year the Grand Draw offers prizes of £500, £100 and £50 and for ten months there are two prizes of £25. There are a maximum of 300 numbers and currently spaces available for new members. Now is the time to join for the next twelve months. An application form, which may be photocopied, is attached to this letter. Existing members of the club will have received an invitation to renew and will be given priority up to the closing date. Thereafter, all applications will be dealt with in the order in which they are received. The annual subscription is £15 per number. Individuals or Syndicates may have as many numbers as they like as long as £15 is paid for each number. Please note that WI funds may not be used to purchase a number as this is gambling and not allowed in the constitution, only individuals or a syndicate may purchase numbers. A syndicate membership must be in the name of an individual. Please state your nominee to whom cheques should be made payable in the event of a win and who will be responsible for sharing any prize money. Should a member move away she is legally required to retain membership of her Surrey WI until the end of the year. Please use the appropriate form below to apply for membership for the year beginning 1 December 2017. The form should be returned to SFWI at the above address NO LATER than Friday 3 November 2017. Each application should be accompanied by a cheque for £15 made payable to SFWI No. 2 account.
