PROPOSAL FOR PRIVATE QUARTERBACK AND PASSING GAME FOOTBALL CAMP EXCLUSIVE TO LWHS AND FEEDER PROGRAM FOOTBALL PLAYERS ONLY Format (2 Sessions) @ Rose Hill Junior High (1) July 7-10 (2) July 14-17 Times 8-12 AM (on the field) 12-1 – Lunch (On their own) 1-3 PM Film and Chalk Talk
Field Time- Teach fundamentals and techniques consistent with todays modern Quarterback and Wide Receiver play. I will focus on drills designed to improve player’s knowledge and skills applicable to all phases of the passing game. I will teach and help implement passing game schemes that are used by Lake Washington High School’s Football Program. This will be a very positive and fun session that will focus on the improvement of each player within the Kangaroo system.
Film and Chalk Talk- We will spend the afternoon session on the chalk board diagramming Lake Washington pass game schemes against multiple defensive looks focusing on how each play attacks the weaknesses against any potential defensive scheme you could face. We will then watch film cut ups of each play giving Lake Washington players a visual of how the play should be properly executed.
We will also spend time talking about leadership and other main values each Quarterback should possess in order to properly lead a football team.
Philosophy- This camp is designed to give each player a lot of individual attention to help improve his football skills and to develop a positive attitude in both football and life. Given the duration of the camp each player should improve greatly while receiving very positive instruction on the fundamentals of football. The type of coaching that each player will receive will be very consistent with how Coach Ray Roberts coaches his program. This camp will be intense but will also take the necessary amount of time to ensure that each player is receiving proper instruction.
Background- Luke Huard is currently the Offensive Graduate Assistant at the University of Washington as well as the assistant Quarterbacks coach. He coached freshman Quarterback Jake Locker last season who was named Pac-10 freshman player of the year. Before coaching at Washington Luke Huard led Interlake High School to its first winning season in a decade in 2004. During his time at Interlake Coach Huard’s offenses broke numerous school offensive records as well as producing two all-Kingco Quarterbacks. Interlake’s offenses were at or near the top of Kingco in passing each of his four years at the helm. Coach Huard will introduce concepts from the University of Washington that will be used at Lake Washington High School. He is the younger brother of current NFL Quarterback Damon Huard and former NFL QB Brock Huard. Luke Huard played college football at The University of North Carolina.
