1. 6:30 Welcome a. March Meeting Notes – Motion to accept March notes passed by unanimous vote.

2. 6:40 School & Board Discussion a. 6:35 Administration Report (ISLA Administration) i. Kindergarten Enrollment & Summer Camps Update – We had 75 families on the waiting list, we’ve moved through 17 on the list. We had complete attendance at the kindergarten roundup. ii. Summer Camp – Space remains in 3 camps, quite a bit of interest in the camps this year. iii. Summer School – We are considering having by-invitation summer school for entering 2nd, 3rd , 4th, 5th grade for children who may need additional help. iv. MAIN – MN Immersion Parent Meeting – This happened a few weeks ago. Folks were in attendance from various immersion schools around town. They are working to address the teacher English language testing requirements guideline by MN state. ISLA discussed the Amity program and how we organize our LA program, other groups were impressed with our organization and school community support. ISLA will host the meeting again next April. v. MCA testing is in progress currently. vi. LAs – We will have 6 next year. vii. 1st-2nd grade concert was last Thursday – Turnout was incredible! Due to turnout, we may separate out by grade next year. viii. 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th grade concert is this Thursday, May 3. b. 7:00 ISLA Board Report April (TBD) i. Next Board Meeting May 15, 7:00pm (ISLA Library) ii. First grade presented to the school board a case for a community garden at ISLA. iii. ISLA school budget for next year was discussed and approved, some lease revisions may be required upcoming. iv. Our current lease agent approached ISLA and 3 other schools about a combined arrangement to form corporation to manage our properties. Benefits to ISLA include a longer term lease (vs. buying the building), the combined schools revenue may possibly benefit the schools for building maintenance (not operations). We would need 2 people to sit on a board for this. Potential downfalls include risks associated in partnering with other schools. v. UDG – Is approaching $270K in funds pledged for the capital campaign. Goal is to reach $350K in pledges before the external launch. The external launch is postponed until Fall 2013. vi. ISLA school board elections will occur at the next meeting.

3. 7:15 Committee & Post Reports a. Volunteer Committee (Amy Roesler) i. Teacher appreciation week (May 7-11) – Janine Keller has organized events, food, and a card avalanche for the teachers whom we appreciate greatly. ii. Lunches – Going OK, except sadly one of our long term lunch volunteers, Jackie (Leslie Tejada’s mother) passed away. She had been volunteering at ISLA ever since ISLA opened and Mondays at lunch. Jackie’s contribution to the ISLA community is much valued and she will be missed. iii. Field Day will be Wednesday, 6/6. We will be looking for some volunteers for this. b. LA Committee (Corey Halls) i. We will have 6 LAs next school year. We have 5 potential host families so far for Spring. We have 4/5 potential host families so far for Fall. We are looking good, but still need a few more host families if possible. ii. We will require all host families to come to the Host Family orientation going forward. iii. Current LAs are leaving in late June and July. Their last day at ISLA will be the last day of school. We have much appreciated their contributions this year. c.
