A Worship Team Covenant

CALVARY CHAPEL TURKU

A Worship Team Covenant “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” - 1 Chronicles 16:29

Our mission is to glorify God through music, to enter with and draw the congregation into heartfelt worship, to exalt the Lord and koinonia (communion) with Him.

“Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together.” - Psalm 34:3

Worship Team Covenant As a member of the worship community at Calvary Chapel Turku, I commit myself, by the grace of God to the following values and guidelines.

 I am committed to this particular church body, its mission, its leaders, and to the worship values we hold dear in our community.  I commit myself to spiritual growth and maturity. As a follower of Christ, I am determined to run the race set before me and to pursue the Son of God with passion and devotion.  I will be accountability to worship team members / leader and church staff so that we can minister to one another. And hold others accountable.

 I am committed to musical growth. This means I intend to develop my vocal and/or instrumental talents through individual and team practice.  I am committed to coming prepared and on time for all practices and services which I am scheduled for. I will notify the worship leader as much in advance as possible if for some reason I am unable to attend so that he can find a replacement.  I will be dedicated and focused on preparing for the service during practice and warm up.  I will do my best to come to services spiritually prepared, in order to be effective in leading others in worship. This includes praying for the services, praying for the worship leader and other team members, and asking God to prepare my heart for ministry that morning.  I will attend “Monthly Team Meetings” realizing that being in fellowship and prayer, receiving teaching, and worshipping with the team is a vital part of being in the worship community. I will make every effort to attend and will notify the worship leader when I am unable to do so.

 I commit myself to valuing every member on the team. I desire to serve in humility making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit by looking out for the best interest and well being of others on the team. I will seek to resolve conflicts with other team members so as to prevent the enemy from getting a foothold.  I will serve “behind the scenes” whenever able (set up, making copies, etc…). I will find ways to support the overall process and necessities.

“Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” - Romans 15:5-6

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” - Philippians 2:3-4

“The trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is good, For His mercy endures forever," that the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud…for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.” - 2 Chronicles 5:13-14

“The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.” - Johann Sebastian Bach
