Team Mission Statement:

The 6th Grade All Star Team will provide a positive environment that encourages academic achievement, self-management, and ownership and an appreciation for the learning process while adhering to The Four Rs (respect, responsibility, right attitude and risk taking) of Our House.

Team Vision: The All Star Team strives to promote...

A Self Awareness L Unity Teamwork L Achievement Respect

TEAM POLICIES Team Behavior Rewards To promote positive behaviors, teachers use “Reward Tickets” to recognize students’ actions and hard work. Tickets may be earned if a student demonstrates positive behavior such as: 1. Consistently completing assignments 2. Being prepared for class with all necessary materials 3. Performing helpful tasks around the school 4. Returning parent signatures on time 5. Demonstrating appropriate behavior without prompting A weekly homeroom raffle will take place to reward 5 students per homeroom who have earned team tickets throughout the week. At the end of each quarter the top two students in each homeroom who have earned the most tickets will be recognized and receive a reward from the team teachers. Team Behavior Consequences If a student chooses not to adhere to class or school rules, teachers will enforce the following plan: 1st Offense: Warning 2nd Offense: Strike One- Name is written in “penalty box” within teacher’s classroom 3rd Offense: Strike Two- Check next to student’s name 4th Offense: Strike Three- Second check next to student’s name After earning three strikes, the consequence is a detention during the Advisory period. The student will be required to fill out a written reflection about her/his behavior, which will require a parent signature. *Repeated infractions of the rules result in further, more serious consequences (i.e., lunch detention, loss of intramurals, parent conference, office referral). Parent Communication Remind Text Alerts Receive texts via Remind to keep you up to date on upcoming assessments and important activities, dates, etc. Please join the 2017-2018 All Stars Remind by sending a text to 81010 with the message @1718allst Infinite Campus Please be sure your contact information is current in Infinite Campus so you can receive email message from the team. We suggest that you consistently review your child’s grades and progress. Teachers will update grades weekly and you can keep track of missing assignments, summative scores, and progress.  1 indicates HW was completed, 0 means it was not completed/attempted  M= Missing, I= Incomplete, L= Late Homework and Missing Assignments Check your child’s homework agenda throughout the week to see what assignments have been recorded and if there are any stamps for missing work. **Stamps are placed in the students’ agendas as reminders that homework or classwork was not turned in or completed. Stamps are not a punishment! It is normal for sixth graders to miss an assignment occasionally. The purpose for the stamp in an agenda is to remind the student to turn in an assignment. When the teacher has received the late assignment, he or she will initial the stamp. No initials mean the assignment has not been turned in yet.

Mayfield Homework Website: If the homework is not recorded in the agenda, you can check out the individual teacher’s webpage. Teachers will try to update the homework on their webpage at least once a week.
