Instructions

You will be creating your own newspaper (groups of 3 or 4) containing the main components of a newspaper we discussed in class. You must include components such as headlines, photos, and captions to make your newspaper as realistic as possible. You will be required to have:

 Title  Front page with a feature local article  International (world issue) article  Sports section article  Art & Entertainment article (movie review or book review)  International (world issue) article  Life section (puzzle or comic, article on health and beauty, travel etc.)  Weather forecast  Advertisement (local restaurant, or company etc.)  Classified (service or job advertisement)

Each section of your newspaper will have a different due date (we will discuss due dates as a class as portions are completed and will write them in, in the weeks to come) and it’s own rubric. When you have completed the last section, you will re-submit your newspaper as a whole.

Interview (for Feature Article) Instructions  Must be a local, non-fiction (real) article relating to Sawmill Creek Elementary School, the Gloucester community, Ottawa, etc.,  Interview is conducted (written questions and notes must be handed in),  Each group member is responsible for coming up with a minimum of 3 questions and each group member is responsible for asking their questions and taking their own notes at the interview.
