 Promote and develop the charity for it to increase its efficiency, effectiveness and relevance to society

 Ensure the charity and its representatives function properly within the legal and regulatory framework of the sector

 Carry out the duties of Trustees in a way that adds to public confidence and trust in the charity.

As an Honorary Treasurer the chance to use your knowledge and expertise to:

 Ensure that the financial resources of the organisation meet its present and future needs

 Advise on the financial implications of the Charity’s strategic and operational plans

 Ensure that financial resources are spent and invested in line with good governance, regulatory requirements, the Charity’s agreed priorities and its governing document

You need these qualities and skills to fulfil this role:

 Financial qualification and extensive experience in financial matters at a strategic level  Experience of charity finance, fundraising and investments and willingness to this knowledge up to date  Skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences  Willingness to acquire knowledge on the work of Samaritans. Be able to present clearly and concisely to a wide audience (e.g. at Council of Samaritans)
