Call for Applications International Doctoral Fellowship (IDF) (This award was formerly known as the University Doctoral Fellowship)

The UBC Faculty Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is offering a graduate student award to support top international students who will be entering a PhD program in 2018. At UBC-V, there are approximately 35 fellowships to be awarded, and will provide funding for five years: a $30,000 stipend plus tuition for four years and a minimum $18,000 funding package in the fifth year (from the recipient's supervisor/Faculty). The selection criteria used will be similar to the criteria used for the UBC Affiliated Fellowship competition. Recipients will be selected through a cross-campus competition from the nominations submitted by graduate programs.

Please be aware that the complete admissions application and all required supporting documents must be submitted by this deadline as well, otherwise the fellowship application will be considered incomplete and your application will not be considered. (Please note: this deadline is earlier than the admissions deadline of February 15, 2018).

Current Master's students who intend to fast-track / transfer from their Master's program to the PhD program as of January, May or September 2018 are also eligible to apply for the award. Please submit the application and materials by January 5, 2018 to Shirley Wong ([email protected]).
