Accounting Manager

Relationships: Department: OCOK

Supervisor: Director of Finance

Direct Reports: Accountant and Bookkeeper

Position Function: To perform and supervise the accurate accounting of financial activities of the OCOK division including transaction processing, financial reporting, review and analysis, grant/contract compliance monitoring, audit schedule preparation and other finance and accounting functions. This position is full time salaried (40 or more hours per week)

Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution

Experience: Broad experience with and responsibility for accounting functions and financial reporting. At least two years of experience supervising staff performing accounting functions.

Functional: Proven ability to solve problems and to work in an organized, efficient, accurate and thorough manner and to manage others to do the same. Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and accounting best practices, High level of computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to understand and utilize the Accounting software and Case management system. Proficient understanding of cost allocation methods and government contracting rules. Strong work ethic and commitment to taking responsibility and initiative

Working Conditions: Standard office conditions including extensive computer operations, telephone and calculator use. Must be able to work in shared office environment. This position requires attendance at occasional off-site meetings or events.

Position Description: Accounting Manager - OCOK Page 1 of 2 Exposure to Confidential Information: Must maintain confidentiality and follow policies related to financial information, personnel records and client records.

Key Expectations/Responsibilities:  Preparation and/or review of: o Provider network payments o Journal entries o Accounts Payable o Accounts Receivable o Prepaid and Accrual transactions  General ledger account analysis and reconciliation  Research and respond to provider network payment discrepancy reports  Government grants and contracts billing preparation and/or review, budget analysis and compliance monitoring  Financial report preparation and review  Budget line item variance review  Assistance with financial audit preparation  Evaluate and maintain effective internal controls and procedures  Preparation of annually required government cost reports and tax returns  Research and resolve problems related to financial transactions or processes  Provide supervisor and administration with timely and accurate financial information as needed.  Maintaining a positive work environment, fostering engagement and retention through communication, feedback, collaboration and recognition  Hire, train and supervise OCOK Finance department staff in all functional areas of accounting and financial management.  Perform on-going and annual performance reviews for staff.
