1 Resource Directory Pg Type of Service Explanation Providing services to aboriginal citizens; programs designed/delivered with 3 Aboriginal Services/Support aboriginal perspective. Services for treatment, or support nature to meet the needs of citizens 5 Addiction Services/Support experiencing, recovering from, or have loved ones suffering from addictions. Performing advocacy as a function, either informally (e.g. letters of support, Advocacy/ Government 7 education on “systems”) or more formally (MLA office, etc.). Services/Safety And Corrections. Educational/ Training Services/programs which provide for “formal” or “informal” learning, skill/career 14 Resource development, training/education. Employment/ Career Meeting Employment needs directly, through provision of employment, or 18 Resource indirectly, through job search, career planning, or work skills development. 19 Family Support/ Resource Meeting the needs of families through counseling, support, information, etc. Resources to address family violence and bullying – may include services for 23 Family Violence/Bullying victims or perpetrators, as well as public education/prevention initiatives. Providing health services to individuals and families – includes health 25 Health Resource promotion/public health/risk reduction/treatment/assessment services.

Providing services/programs to meet the specific needs of immigrants and Immigrant/ Refugee/ 27 refugees. Also provides services based on cultural, linguistic, ethnocultural needs. Newcomer Services Includes ESL education. Providing information on community resources to the public through telephone or Information and Referral walk-in services (does not include providing information/referral to a specific client 28 Services group as part of the other services offered by the agency, i.e. during a parenting group.) Services of an assessment, treatment, or supportive nature to meet the needs of 30 Mental Health Resource citizens experiencing, recovering from, or at risk of, mental illness. Recreational/Social Programs, services, or activities which focus on social or recreational needs – 31 Resource either formally or informally. Program/Service: Offenders that were aged 12 – 17 at the time of an offence. Community sentences may include probation orders, deferred custody, custody and community supervision, or supervised releases prior to a trial or sentencing. Also administered is the Extrajudicial Sanctions program (court diversion), both directly and in partnership with volunteers on Youth Justice Committees. Youth Justice Committees may also assist the court through a sentence advisory or mentoring role. They have access to a wide variety of treatment, educational and other programs, including release planning. The Edmonton Youth Attendance Centre supervises Non Residential Orders, and provide curfew surveillance, community service work, fine option, educational and other programs, both directly and through partnership with other agencies such as the Edmonton School Board, AADAC, John Howard Society, Centrepoint (Capital Health) and others. Open Custody Group Homes in Edmonton are provided by way of

The Edmonton North Young Offender Probation office is responsible for the preparation of Pre-sentence & violation reports and enforces Youth Court sentences that have a condition requiring the youth to report to a probation officer.
