Week of September 6th-10th
Accelerated Reader: I have had a few questions about AR. Just to clarify, if your child is bringing home an AR book, you MAY read their book to them if you would like because currently all students are working toward Ready Reader certification. After they complete Ready Reader 1 through 5, they will work on Independent Reader. For quizzes to count for Independent Reader, the words must be read by the child.
Volunteers: Don’t forget that we still desperately need parent volunteers in our classroom. If you have an approved background check on file in the office, we desperately need your help in our classroom. With such a large class and no instructional assistant, I need all the help I can get. Even if you can’t devote a whole day, any hours you can help would be greatly appreciated.
Fish Fry: The MES Fish Fry will be October 15th. Each class does a class basket for the auction. Our class basket will be a Family Fun theme. Items for this theme would include board games, craft kits, card games, dominoes; anything you could use to have fun with your family. I heard from a parent today that Wal-Mart has several board games on clearance. Let’s have the best Fish F4ry basket ever! Also, we will be sending home permission slips soon about selling Fish Fry tickets. Watch your child’s backpack for that.
