ARMITAGE REUNION 2011 AGENDA

FOOD:  Coffee pot will be on with good coffee the whole weekend.  Coffee & Muffins supplied for Sat, Sun and Mon breakfast.  Sunday: potluck dinner – meat supplied by reunion funds, so bring your favourite dish to complement the dinner. Whatever shows up, we eat (no pre-emptive list!)  Individual families responsible for all other meals and drinks

GETTING READY:  Think about a family story about one of the original 7 Armitage’s or Grama/Grampa Armitage (William and Annie Maude)  Get your talent act sharpened up  Bring your item(s) to be auctioned off  Bring your money to buy ‘stuff’ at the auction!  Bring a favourite recipe to be put in the Armitage Cookbook. Don’t forget the kid’s favourite recipe!~  Bring all your camping gear if camping. A bar-b-que will be available to cook on.  Bring your favourite T-shirt that you want to show off.

STUFF TO DO in the area  Diamond Lake is a five minute drive down Baptiste Lake Road with a lovely beach  Bancroft Gemboree http://www.bancroftdistrict.com is on this weekend, with events going on in town (if you have time)  More links http://www.bancroftontario.com

FRI JULY 29 Some people arrive and set up for the weekend. Meet & Greet Campfire and Songs

SATURDAY JULY 30  People arriving and setting up  Go to the Welcome Table and get all the important stuff: o See the AGENDA o Sign the book that will be auctioned off (find out at the auction) o Get your pillowcase find out what this is about at the Welcome Table! o Get your pages to write down stories about the “Seven Scoundrels”or the “Sensational Seven” or the “Scandalous Seven” you pick your adjective: (Wellington, Elwin, Holly, Harry, Garnet, Caroline, & Grace) We will read these stories at the campfire and the group will have to guess who the story is about!  Ice Breakers info organized by Kim Fortin and Kim Armitage  2pm: Driving tour around the area. Note: tour still under construction at time of this writing, but some of the sights may include: See the house Wellington and Julie brought the seven kids to live in when they first arrived at Clear Lake, see the road to Faraday mine where Holly, Elwin and Wellington worked (and various cousins as well), on to Coe Hill and visit Wellington, Julie and cousin Harry at the cemetery, visit cousin Darlene’s Bakery and have a tasty treat, then maybe visit the Old Hastings Gallery and continue on down the Old Hastings Road for a trip back in time!  Later: campfire, visiting and song!

Sunday July 31  Put on your favourite T-shirt. Don’t forget to look around at all the great T-shirts Armitage’s et al own!  Breakfast supplied by our host  11am – games organized by Patty and Sarah prizes supplied by Judi  Lunch and relaxation  3pm Auction led by Steve & John  5pm dinner  6 or 7pm Talent Show MC’d by Caleb  Campfire

Monday Aug 1  After breakfast: Family meeting to decide on the planning party next year.  Goodbye, adieu, farewell, adios, arrivederci ….. See you at the planning party!
