Description Bequests:  to friend George Sargent of Lezant £300, ‘his Executors and his Administrators Upon Trust to lay out and invest the same upon Government or real Security at Interest and from time to time alter and vary such Stocks Funds and Securities for others of the like nature and to stand possessed of the same and the Interest and Dividends and annual produce thereof In Trust for my Grandchildren Elizabeth Brendon George Sargent Brendon Mary Ann Brendon Maria Brendon John Brendon and Margeret Brendon Sons and Daughters of my late deceased Son William Brendon who as being my Grandsons shall attain the age of Twenty one years and as being my Granddaughters attain the age of Twenty one years or be married under that age’

 to friends John Parsons and Nicholas Langman, yeomen of Lawhitton £200, to invest and be held ‘Upon Trust to lay out and invest the same upon Government or Real security at Interest and from time to time to alter and vary such Stocks Funds and Securities for others of the like nature and to stand possessed of the same and the Interest Dividends and annual produce thereof In Trust for my Grandsons Thomas Parsons and John Brendon Parsons sons of the said John Parsons who shall attain the age of Twenty one years’

 to friend George Martin, £120 to invest in Trust as above for ‘my Granddaughters Mary Martin and Catherine Martin Daughters of the said George Martin who shall attain the age of Twenty one years or be married

 to granddaughter Elizabeth Brendon, ‘my best Japan Waiter all my China half a Dozen Silver Tea Spoons Silver Milk Cup and Silver Sugar Tongs’

 to daughter in law Phillippa Brendon, ‘All the rest residue and remainder of my Household Goods and Furniture Bed and Table Linen and all my wearing apparel’, ‘£5 to be paid to her immediately after my decease’

The remainder of all Legacies are to be paid within 6 months after death. ‘all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods and Chattels Lands and Tenements of what kind or quality soever and wheresoever to be held in Trust for the use of my Grandson Edward Parsons the eldest Son of the said John Parsons.’ If he dies before he is 21 it should be held in trust for grandsons Thomas Parsons and John Brendon Parsons. If both of them die before reaching 21 then it should be included with the rest of the estate and distributed accordingly.

No part of the legacies or estate may be released for maintenance, education or any other purpose while the grandchildren are minors.

Tombstones with suitable inscriptions to be erected at the graves of ‘my three dear departed Children William Brendon Edward Brendon and Mary Anne Parsons’

‘I have this my will written on three Sheets of Paper set my Hand to the two first sheets and my Hand and seal to this third and last sheet today and year first above written’
