Friends of Shelly Lisbona, a former Lakeland student, are sponsoring a "Phun Walk for Shelley" on June 8 at 12 noon. It will take place at the Lakeland track, and all proceeds will go to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. Shelley was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension at 16 years old and passed away just 4 months later. She was a very involved member of the Lakeland community and touched many people’s lives. Saframes Custom Framing on Ringwood Avenue & Conklintown Road is looking for a student to help with light manufacturing of frames, boxing, packing, and miscellaneous duties. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule for approximately 20 hours per week beginning June 1. Call Mrs. Safane at 973-851-6441 if you are interested.

Passaic County is sponsoring a summer work program for students who are at least 16 years of age. Certain financial conditions apply. Information and applications are available on the Lakeland website and in the Main Office.

The Character Education Association is hosting a "Character Counts Movement" during the month of May. We are asking for participation from both faculty and staff to nominate students who demonstrate outstanding character or perform a random act of kindness. If you would like to nominate a student please email either Ms. Haftek or Mr. Thomas or complete a form in the main office or guidance office.

Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire will be shown at Ringwood Public Library on Thursday, May 22, at 6:00 p.m. There is no advance registration/tickets for this free movie night.
