POST TITLE: Fundraising Manager

RESPONSIBLE TO: Centre Manager, Trustees

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Volunteers

The Charity

Peter Pan Centre was originally formed in 1969 as a play group for children with special needs and has grown into the specialist, educational and developmental service it is today.

The Centre provides specialist, sessional care to children with special needs. The service offered by the Centre is unique in the area and as a result the centre supports children from across Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent and Cheshire and surrounding areas. The children cared for by the centre have a wide range of disabilities, conditions and syndromes such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, Visual and Hearing Impairments, Physical Delays, Speech and Language delays, through to life limiting conditions.

Overall Objectives of the Post:

To increase income across new and existing income streams

To work under the direction of the Centre Manager and the Trustees

To be a professional member of the Centre team supporting the aims of the Charity

To play an integral role in the Management team

To lead the promotion and marketing of the core fundraising activities of the Peter Pan Centre

Main Duties:

Lead and deliver the existing fundraising strategy Identify, manage and grow new income streams Identify, motivate and manage the donor stewardship of new supporters and maximise income streams Manage the donor stewardship of existing supporters to maximise income Introduce new charity events Manage and grow existing centre fundraising events and develop new fundraising activities. Contribute to the development of our digital / social marketing platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Linked In etc….

Work closely with our PR team to promote events, and raise the profile of the Centre. Attend staff meetings and appropriate internal and external staff development training as requested by the Centre Manager and Trustees To undertake any other duties which are commensurate with the role To respect confidentiality. Work closely with the Centre Manager and Fundraising Trustee to continue to develop the fundraising strategy and annual budgeting process Communicate and engage with the Early Years team to achieve the desired outcome

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Job Location: Based at the Centre offices, Newcastle under Lyme. This role will include some evening and weekend working.

Salary: £27,000 dependant on experience with appropriate benefits

Probationary period: 6 months

Holidays: 20 days plus public holidays

Hours of work: 37.5 hour week, hours are usually worked between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday but occasional evening and weekend working will be required

Fuel Allowance: The post holder must have use of a car and an allowance of 40p per mile is available for all business travel

Salary review: Salary is reviewed on an annual basis depending on the funding situation of the charity

Termination period: 3 months

CRITERIA ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE METHOD OF ASSESSMENT

Qualifications 2 years’ experience in Fundraising qualification Interview fundraising or similar sales Member of the Institute environment of Fundraising Possession of a valid Maximum of three points driver’s licence and use of Production of documents on a driving licence. car
