BIOGRAPHY

Captain Ray Heiniger, Training Manager, Asia Pacific, Flight Services, Boeing Commercial Airplanes

Captain Ray Heiniger is the training manager for the Asia Pacific region for Boeing Flight Services. He is responsible for managing the training requirements of all Boeing customers in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to his current role, Heiniger was executive vice president of Flight Operations for Jet Airways of India. Before that, he was Training and Standards manager for Alteon Training, Korea from 2003 to 2005.

In 1976, Heiniger began a distinguished career at Qantas Airlines, including roles as Senior Check Captain, Flight Operations Standards director, Flight Operations Training director and Qantas Group general manager Flight, Operations and chief pilot. In these roles, his responsibilities included managing the company’s flying standards, overall training of Qantas Technical Aircrew, training and checking of Qantas pilots and the successful integration of Qantas domestic and international operations.

Heiniger is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and has held positions as director of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, chairman of the Australian Air Transport Association and chairman of the IATA Flight Operations Committee. He holds the Australian Air Transport Pilot License and has logged more than 15,000 flying hours on a wide variety of jet aircraft.

Heiniger is a graduate of the Australian Graduate School of Management’s Managers Development Program at the University of New South Wales in Australia.
