Impact Evaluation

The pupil premium made considerable impact with many children on track for upper quartile progress, which can be described as outstanding progress. The strengths of this response in the development of bespoke provision that has been facilitated by the pupil premium.

The pupil premium has made less of an impact with many students in secondary where there is a significant percentage of students not on track for upper quartile progress. However, despite the students not being on track for their target, there is an increase in the rates of learning by the majority of students.

A noticeable factor is the slowing of learning from those in year 9 upwards. Whilst this can be attributed a plateau in learning, it could also be apparent that traditional methods of teaching and learning are no longer appropriate. It would be appropriate then to use the pupil premium in future years to look at overcoming individual needs. It will be appropriate to look at increasing the level of specialism in school.
