Applying for Positions:

Q) What information will I be asked to provide?

A) You will be asked to provide personal information such as name, address, phone number, etc. You will also be asked to provide information about your education and previous employment, as well as contact information regarding your employment history and references. Please gather this information before beginning the application.

Q) What if I am not ready to fill out the application at this time?

A) If you do not want to complete the application at this time, please click "EXIT" at the bottom of the page.

Q) Do I have to fill out an application?

A) Everyone who applies for a position at Florida Atlantic University is required to create an on-line application which includes certain information. Any required information is denoted with an asterisk (*). However, the more information you provide, the easier it will be to effectively evaluate your skills, abilities and qualifications.

Q) What if I want to submit a resume?

A) You will be able to submit a resume for all AMP (Administrative, Managerial and Professional) and Faculty positions; however, you cannot attach resumes for SP (Support Personnel) or Temporary positions. There will be directions prompting you how and when to attach your resume. For attached documents, use standard fonts and keep under 1MB. Please note that attaching a resume does not substitute for completing the application form.

Q) How do I save my application?

A) You must click SAVE AND CONTINUE TO NEXT or SAVE AND STAY ON THIS PAGE to save the information you have entered. If you close your browser prior to clicking SAVE AND CONTINUE TO NEXT or SAVE AND STAY ON THIS PAGE your application and account will be saved, but you will lose the information on the last page that was not saved. Q) Can I copy selected information from another electronic document?

A) Yes; for example, you can copy and paste the information from a Word or WordPerfect document directly into the appropriate fields in the application form.

Q) My document was created on a Mac, what do I need to do?

Q) How will I know my application has been accepted by the system?

A) Each time you apply for a position you will receive a confirmation number. If you do not receive a confirmation number you application is incomplete. Login to your user account, select “Manage Applications” and finish applying. Complete each application page and follow the necessary links to complete the process.

Q) How can I check the status of my application?

A) You can log in at any time by using your user name and password. Looking at the left side menu bar, click on ‘Application Status. You may view the current status of your application for each position you have applied for by reviewing the Status column.

Q) I missed the application deadline- Can I still apply to the position?

A) As with any position, once the closing date (deadline) has passed, no applications will be accepted. Please continue to visit the online applicant site and apply for new jobs as they become available.

Q) I submitted my application but forgot to include some needed information. Can I correct this?

A) Once you finish applying for a position, you cannot edit the application materials for that position. Before submitting your application, you can edit or view your existing application by selecting ‘Manage Applications’.

Troubleshooting: Q) I am having technical problems with my computer that is preventing the completion of my application or applying for a job. What can I do?

A) Be sure you are using either Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, or Netscape 4.79 or higher (with the exception of 7.0). Also, under your browser internet options, you need to have cookies and Javascript “enabled”. If you are still having technical problems, contact Human Resources at [email protected] or call 561-297-3057.

Q) I am having a problem using the Back button to get to a prior page. It keeps returning me to the same page. What do I do?

A) DO NOT USE YOUR BROWSER BUTTONS to navigate through the Employment Site, or to open a new Browser window from your existing window. This may cause unexpected results, including lose of data, the page freezing, or being logged out of the site. PLEASE ALWAYS USE THE NAVIGATION BUTTONS FOUND WITHIN THE SITE.

Q) As I was attaching a document, my system "froze" or I got a message that "Page could not be displayed". What do I do?

This is generally caused when your document is larger than 1MB (1000KB). Correct this by editing your document to exclude graphics and pictures and strive to use plain text.

Click on ‘Application Status’ in the menu on the left and find the position that you were applying to, then click 'Finish Applying’ in the status column to finish attaching your documents.
