Meeting Date: January 13, 2016 The meeting was called to order with appropriate ceremonies by Commander Joe Lopez at 7:32 p.m.

Reading of the Minutes: After the minutes of the December 9, 2015 meeting were read, it was moved/seconded and passed to accept them as read.

Commander’s Report:

Recruiting of new membership must be given priority this year. We need 30 new members to achieve a 100% membership.

Report of Committees:

Board of Governors  Front entrance carpet has been removed and floor cleaned in Joe Lopez preparation for leveling and installation of new tile. A tile layer is needed.  Lighting replacement in the entryway is underway to brighten the entrance.  Cameras have been installed but some realignments will be required as a result of a free camera placement survey being conducted by the Loveland Police Department.  Security in the lounge continues to be a problem; money and product continues to disappear. Resolution of these issues will be a priority this year.  No response has been received to date on letters our attorney sent to the buyer/broker concerning sunk cost payments resulting

Bingo  Bingo operations suffered during December due to weather John Ratcliffe related low attendance at one session and two missed sessions due to Christmas and News Years falling on bingo days.  January 8th was also poor with a weather related showing of only 61 players. Hospital  Progress continues on Plan. Steve Rylant  A resolution for cancellation of the Nursing Home an PTSD facilities remains a critical issue. Legislative  The Colorado legislature opened today. The Governor’s State of Steve Rylant the State address is tomorrow.  Bills to resolve the VA Nursing Home/PTSD issues are expected this term.  Military Appreciation Day is January 29th with a reception at 8:00 following by a number of activities at and around the State House. These functions are open to all vets and attendance is encouraged. Honor Guard 2015’s activities were highlighted by Max DeCamp, Honor Guard Max DeCamp Commander:  74 memorials were conducted and 21 other services provided. 43 of these were for Army, 22 Navy, 3 Marine, and 6 Air Force

 The team logged 1,526.4 miles in the accomplishment of these events and received donations of $4,285.21 for their service. Membership 2015 membership: 298, Currently: 268; 89.93% (30 members short of Steve Rylant 100%). New members: 6; Reinstates: 1, Continuous: 44; Life 217. Deceased members: 1. J. D. Willey (100 year old Life Member), Navy WWII 2. Robert Chenowith (90 year old Life Member), Navy SeaBee, WWII. Transfer: It was moved/seconded and approved to accept Rodney Straub, an Army retiree with RVN service transferring from Post 3791. Voice of Democracy, 7 entries were received for this year’s Patriot’s Pen competition. The Patriot’s Pen, 1st Place local winner placed 3rd in the District competition. Teacher of Year The Department Patriot Pen banquet will be held in Golden on Bob Abrams/Lou Price January 23rd.

Quartermaster’s Report:

Post General Fund $ 6,579.09 Relief Fund $ 2,292.94 Dues Reserve $ 835.24 Total in Checking $ 9,808.27 Savings $ 3,407.97 Total $13,216.24

Page 2 of 4  The quarterly audit was conducted tonight and will be submitted with the Commander’s approval.  Reinstatement of the 990 is underway. It was moved/seconded and approved to pay any reasonable costs accruing from this activity.  A listing of 46 delinquent members was presented and the membership’s assistance in getting these members current was solicited (Attached).  It was moved/seconded and passed to accept the Quartermaster’s Report as presented.

No Old Business or New Business items were presented.

There were no nominations for Good of the Order or for Comrades in Distress.

The meeting was closed with appropriate ceremonies by the Commander at 8:37 p.m.
