MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION MEETING

BELLEVUE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH January 27, 2014 1717 Bellevue Way Northeast Bellevue, WA 98004-2853

The Moderator Scott Dudley called the regular monthly meeting of the Session to order with prayer in room S-141 at Bellevue Presbyterian Church at 5:45 PM. The meeting had been preceded by a fast. A quorum was present.

Following prayer time and dinner, Chris Martenson gave an update on Table Time and the Faith & Work Initiative. Table Time is an invitation to build community in homes by inviting groups of people over for informal meals, dessert or coffee. Faith & Work Initiative includes a February 6 event with author and Executive Director, Katherine Leary Alsdorf, and the launching of Cascade Fellows, a partnership with Fuller Theological Seminary. The BelPres Executive Team supports Cascade Fellows, a nine- month young adult discipleship program connecting the gospel to vocations.

A study time led by Rev. Scott Mann focused on reflections on the Heidelberg Catechism, which Session continued to use as a devotional through January. Session thanked the Advent devotional team for their work writing and producing the booklet handed out this season.

BelPres Values are: Faith in Jesus, Authority of Scripture, Caring Community, Missional Living, Partnerships for Revival, Prayer, Transformation and Worship. These updates, and others relating to Key Goals and Outcomes on the Management Roadmap, were approved by session. 2. Scott Burbank led session through a ministry evaluation tool exercise, which will help measure how well a ministry or initiative is aligned with Key Goals and Values established on the Roadmap for the fiscal year. The goal of the tool is to be better at evaluating programs and priorities and to adapt if needed. 3.
