The Upper St. Clair Hockey Association is sponsoring four Junior Panthers Ice Hockey Teams for the 2017 - 2018 season. There will be two Mite teams (birth years 2009 – 2012), one Squirt team (birth years 2007 and 2008) and one Pee Wee team (birth years 2005 and 2006). One Mite team will be an advanced team and one Mite team will be a beginner team. The Squirt Team will be comprised of 2007 and 2008 birth year players (all abilities). The Pee Wee team will be comprised of 2005 and 2006 birth year players (all abilities).

The Mite teams will have five “home” games. The Pee Wee and Squirt teams will have six “home” games. The “home” ice times will be at 6:00 PM at Ice Castle on the dates listed below. The first ice time listed for each team will be used for a practice. The remaining ice times listed for each team will be used for games. We will also schedule away games for each team. We do not have the blackout schedule for Ice Castle for March yet, so it is possible that some of the March dates listed below could be cancelled or re-scheduled. If an ice time is cancelled, we will host an end of the year party or other activity to compensate the affected team.

Please note that this is not a learn-to-play program. Your child must have some ice hockey experience to participate. The details for the season are as follows:

Location: Ice Castle (“home” ice times only)

Dates: Pee Wees: 9/3/17, 10/1/17, 11/12/17, 12/17/17, 1/28/18, 2/25/18, 3/18/18 Squirts: 9/10/17, 10/15/17, 11/19/17, 1/7/18, 2/4/18, 3/4/18, 3/25/18 Mites: 9/17/17, 10/29/17, 12/3/17, 1/21/18, 2/11/18, 3/11/18

Time: 6:00 – 6:50 PM (“home” ice times only)

Format: Mites will play 3-on-3 ADM cross-ice games. Squirts and Pee Wees will play 5-on-5 full ice games. All games will have referees and an EMT.

Equipment: Full hockey equipment is required including a helmet with a cage or full shield, cup, mouthpiece and neck guard.

Registration Fee: $175.00 (Squirts and Pee Wees) $150.00 (Mites)

If your child does not have a USC hockey jersey or needs a bigger jersey, you will need to buy one for him or her. The cost is $45.00. Please complete the jersey information section in the on-line registration and we will order the jersey(s) for you.

Group Size: We have room for 24 Mites, 20 Squirts and 20 Pee Wees. After the rosters are full, we will take names for a call-up list. Call-up players will pay on a per game basis. Registration: To register your child, please complete the on-line registration.

We need volunteer coaches to make this work. All volunteer coaches must (i) be registered with USA Hockey, (ii) have their USA Hockey coaching certifications including: (a) Tier I, II, III, IV or V coaching certification, (b) current MidAm clearance, (c) current SafeSport certification, and (d) Age-Specific On-line Module completion, and (iii) have clear PA Criminal Records Check and PA Child Abuse Clearance.
