ACTIVITY PLAN (SG.1) For parents, Guiders and assessors
Activities are organized according to Girl Guides of Canada’s Safe Guide. The Safe Guide sets procedures for activity management including supervision, training, equipment and health matters. A copy of Safe Guide is available from www.GirlGuides.ca. If your daughter/ward has any disabilities that may require accommodation, disclosing and discussing them with us will help us accommodate her. Unit: Québec Provincial Council Today’s Date: January 9, 2017 Cost (if relevant): Activity/event/camp $10 Brownie Super Hero Academy Include tax (GST or HST) Responsible Guider: Charyl Hyndman (See contact info below) Activity Description: (Guiders – give a brief description of the overall activity, event or camp. Try to “paint a picture” of what it will be like for the girls.) To reunite Brownies from different units in the province for a fun-filled day of activities including games, crafts, singing and programme related work revolving around being a super hero and the "Be You" national challenge. Cost will include 2 snacks, 2 crests and other "bling." To avoid allergies, girls and leaders are asked to bring their own "nut free" lunch that does not need to be heated. Also leaders should let organizers know at registration if there are any allergies. Note: Please leave any personal items at home that are not on the kit list to avoid any items getting lost. There will be a community service project component and details will be sent out to participants in the kit list. Girls & leaders are asked to please wear their uniforms. For overnights, type of accommodation: Meeting hall Camp residence Tent Hotel Hostel Other (please list) : Purpose of Activity: (Guiders – please provide a brief explanation of how the girls will benefit from participating in the activity.) To bring together Brownies from across the province for a day of fun. Girls will hone their superpowers of confidence, caring, and strength.

Number of children/youth The minimum supervision ratios will be: expected: 90 1:8 Supervision will be provided as follows: (Guiders – please briefly explain how supervision will be managed.) Girls will be divided into patrol circles with one or two Guiders in each. Activities will have additional animators on site

Mode of transportation: Parents will provide transportation Automobile insurance is not provided by Girl Guides of Canada for the owner of the vehicle, even if it is used during a sanctioned event. The registered owner of the vehicle is responsible for maintaining adequate automobile insurance. Any physical damage to the vehicle, or liability resulting from its use during participation in or travel to and from a sanctioned activity is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
