BETSI II: Joining efforts to achieve social inclusion Introduction

The goal of BETSI II is to encourage a culture of collaboration between public institutions, economic agents and social agents operating in the city of Barcelona, in order to increase the city’s global well-being and welfare.

With this objective in mind, BETSI II acts as:  A mechanism of promotion and support for the development of the corporation’s social responsibility,

 An instrument to manage and channel the collaboration between corporations and the initiatives and projects of the social fabric.

 An articulator of joint innovative and strategic projects between corporations, social organisations, and the public administration.

Lines of action of Project BETSI II

 The promotion of the culture of collaboration and social responsibility of the Company. Actions, activities, and initiatives intended to create a favourable environment for the development of social actions in the corporate sector: (seminars, courses, conferences on corporate social action, in cooperation with university institutions, business and management schools; articles published in corporate magazines of the social and corporate field (bulletins, corporate publications,...); economic press, TV,...; events of public relevance: results of the social action undertaken by companies; divulging of collaboration agreements reached between corporations and organisations, ...)

 The articulation and management of the collaboration. Channelling sponsorships and assistance from corporation toward the social programmes in the city, through the projects undertaken by the social fabric.

Project BETSI II has a firm group of social organisations and projects in the city that might be eligible to benefit from collaboration. All of them are renowned for their experience, prestige, and quality of work, and they undertake projects in different fields of action (social assistance, prevention of problems,…) and addressed to different groups (children and families, homeless individuals, the elderly, immigrants,…) The technical team of BETSI II establishes the contacts, and matches the collaboration proposal from corporations and the projects and needs of the organisations. 1 Ajuntament de Barcelona
