CHRISTIAN FORMATION AND YOUTH GROUP All high school students and 8 th graders 14 or older: if you are able and willing to help with the Habitat home build, see Deb for forms. YES forms are also available for all high school students and this year’s 8 th graders. In this upcoming party season, please remember to save your pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House. I prefer that they not be in juice bottles.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, Barnyard Roundup, begins next Monday, June 6 at 6:30pm. We have 85 children registered! Thank you for all of our volunteers! We are still looking for volunteers for a petting zoo for Thursday evening, June 9.

Y.E.S. Youth Elect Service – June 16-18. The 2016 Y.E.S. project will be held at the Ft. Jennings High School this year beginning June 16, 6pm. Current 8th grade students through graduating seniors are encouraged to join us for this weekend service retreat. Be ready to meet teens from throughout the St. George Deanery, have some fun, grow in faith and be the hands and feet of Christ in your community while ‘Fueling the Fire of Mercy’! This 3 day retreat experience will close with 5pm Mass on Saturday, June 18, Ft. Jennings. Registration forms are available from Deb Wehri and are due by May 30! So bring your friends and help us meet our goal and be part of the fun! Confirmation students: this is a corporal work of mercy!

Y.E.S. WORK SITES NEEDED. One June 17 & 18 the teens & adults from the Deanery are volunteering to help people throughout Putnam County with various jobs around their homes as they participate in the annual Youth Elect Service weekend retreat. If you would like a team of youth and adults to help with jobs around your home, please contact Deb Wehri, 419-876- 3481. This includes anything from mulching to washing your car or just some spring cleaning in the house or yard!

5K RUN FOR RELAY FOR LIFE: The Putnam County Relay for Life, which will take place on Friday, June 3, will include a 5K Race beginning at 7:30pm. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and its effort to serve those affected by cancer and for research. Visit Facebook.com/PutnamRelay5K or call 419-230-7009 for more information. DIOCESAN YOUTH DAY AT CEDAR POINT is Tuesday, June 14 10am-10pm. The day is open to all Middle School & High School Youth & Their families $40 per tickets (ages 3 and older). Tickets will be sold the day of the event at a window designated for the “Diocese of Toledo” just to the right of the main entrance. Tickets will be sold from 9am-noon. Beverage bracelets will be sold for $8 and will allow you to receive FREE refills throughout the day.

VIGIL FOR LIFE. On Tuesday, May 31st from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., join the pro-life generation of Northwest Ohio who will be gathering on the sidewalk of Capitol Care abortion facility to pray for the sanctity of human life and to offer hope to women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. We’ll gather at Capital Care, 1160 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio beginning at 6 p.m. Join us for an hour of peaceful prayer as we bring the light of Christ Jesus to move the hearts and minds of all present to a deeper appreciation of the dignity of human life. INQUIRY SESSOINS for men who may have an interest in the ministry of Permanent Deacon will be held this fall. If you are a man between the ages of 31 and 59 and would like to know more about the process to become a Permanent Deacon you can explore the official diocesan website at http://toledodiocese.org/page/delegate-for-permanent-deacons or contact Deacon Doyle ([email protected] or 419-890-8533). The ordination date for the 22 men currently in formation will be in September 2017 while the next formation program, which begins with the inquiry sessions this fall, will culminate with ordination in September 2021.

FAMILY CAMP WEEKEND RETREAT is looking for volunteers over age 15 to be buddies to children and adults with developmental disabilities. The weekend is filled with summer camp activities in a faith-filled environment. YOUR participation will make Family Camp a meaningful experience for a person with a disability, their family, and you! YOU ARE INVITED to join a Pilgrimage to walk in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi during this Holy Year of Mercy. Fr. PUTNAM COUNTY HOSPICE is seeking volunteers to offer companionship to patients, respite to the caregivers, assistance with administrative tasks, as well as assistance with special events and fundraising projects. Following orientation and training, volunteers can choose their area of involvement. THE FRIENDS OF HE PUTNAM COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY will be holding their Annual Used Book Sale on June 7 and 8 from 9 AM to 8 PM at the 4th Street Gym, 751 East 4th Street, Ottawa, OH. Items for sale- hardback and paperback books for all ages plus videos, CDs, DVDs, records, music books, sheet music, electronics, and attic treasures.
