Now he's one of the world's biggest solo stars, but when he left university in 1974, he got a job as a teacher! Superstar singer Alesha Dixon trained to be a PE teacher, but she left university early to start her pop career. There may be some more talent in her family to come too, because her parents had seven children! Jonny Greenwood, the lead guitarist of Radiohead, also left university before he finished the course. The other members of the band are older than him, and just after he left school, Radiohead started making albums. He left college right then and became a professional musician. Interestingly, Greenwood has built a career in classical musical, too. He is a composer at the BBC concert orchestra and he also plays the piano, violin and keyboards! But if you want a career as a rock star, you'll probably need to complete university, like Radiohead's lead singer Thom Yorke. He finished his course in English and Art at Exeter University before he went into the music business … and got worldwide fame!
