Dayton Progress opens doors to career-minded students on Manufacturing Day DAYTON OH- On October 4, 2013, Dayton Progress (“Dayton”), a MISUMI Group Company, will welcome area students to an open house as part of National Manufacturing Day (www.mfgday.com). Manufacturing Day is an educational event during which U.S. manufacturers open their doors to demonstrate the potential of modern manufacturing and to foster interest in manufacturing careers.

The annual event illustrates that manufacturing is alive and well in the USA. In addition to jobs requiring college degrees in science, technology, engineering, math, accounting and business, manufacturing offers many very well-paying jobs for people who do not have a college degree. Manufacturing Day encourages students to develop the necessary skills for today's advanced manufacturing. Career-minded students are informed:

• A Great Workplace. Manufacturing is a clean, technologically advanced workplace.

• Excellent Income. The annual average income of manufacturing workers is more than $77,000.

• Job Security & Satisfaction. Manufacturing employees have the highest job tenure in the private sector.

• Superior Benefits. 90% of manufacturing workers have medical benefits.

Primarily intended for students, the event is also open to parents, educators, community leaders, and business people. School administrators are encouraged to contact Dayton Progress to arrange for student tours.

Dayton Progress will be presenting five (5) $1,000 scholarships to students who enroll in the Step 2 Program at Sinclair Community College for Fall 2014.
