Jim McDonald Memorial Scholarship GENERAL INFORMATION

This scholarship is available to seniors graduating from the Arriba-Flagler Consolidated School District #20, planning on attending a college, university or trade school pursuing a degree in education or a skilled profession (mechanics, electronics, contractor, etc.).

The amount of the scholarship will vary according to available funds, no less than $750. The recipient must show proof of a “B” or 3 point average (or above) at the end of his/her first quarter/semester at the college, university or trade school being attended. The disbursement of funds will then be made to the appropriate office of the college or university or trade school, in the name of the recipient and the school attended.

This scholarship may be awarded in addition to other grants and scholarships.

The recipient will be chosen by the Principal/Superintendent and two (2) high school teachers for the Arriba-Flagler Consolidated School District #20. The McDonald family requests notification of the recipient as soon as the scholarship recipient decision is made. Presentation of this scholarship to the recipient will be during the graduation ceremonies.

All applications must be returned in printed form generated from this posted application form. No emails of the scholarship will be accepted.

Scholarship applications must be received by the school office by the end of school on April 15th.

ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

 Applicant must be enrolled in the Arriba-Flagler Consolidated School District #20 for one school year prior to graduation.

 Applicants must be enrolled in a college, university or trade school pursuing a career either in education or a skilled profession (mechanics, electronics, contractor, etc.).

 All applications must be made using forms provided, and must include all necessary information requested on the application.

 All applications are due to the school office by the end of school on April 15 th of each year.

 Copy of transcript of applicant’s high school record must accompany all applications showing that the applicant has maintained a B average or above. (Verification of GPA & class rank by school official @ bottom of application)
