How have computers evolved since the 1950’s? What is the difference between hardware and software? What are input, output, & storage devices? How can productivity software help the student or business professional? Time Topical Outline Instructional Aids/Strategies Day 1 (Monday) Starter Open the file, “BCS Mythbusters” and write the five paragraph responses to the questions. Class Discussion Day 2 (Tuesday) Teacher Focus Open your “Mythbusters” file from Monday and Student Focus complete the five paragraph responses to the questions. Day 3 (Tentative) (Wednesday) Starter Go to www.scsite.com/dc2005 ; Chapter 1 Teacher Focus Complete the following exercises: Student Focus Quiz yourself – All of the Chapter 1 quizzes (3) Checkpoint – Complete the top four activities. Computer Genius/Wheel of Terms – 3X each Day 4 (Tentative) (Thursday) Starter Complete exercises from yesterday’s website above. Teacher Focus Begin MS Excel activity – Pixel Drawing Student Focus Choose two of the pictures from the page to re-create. Use “graph paper” in Excel (20px by 20px). When done, you can design a similar character of your own design on the same page. Day 5 (Tentative) (Friday) Starter Begin by defining the following business terms: Profit, Net Profit, Gross Profit, Inventory, and Sales. Synthesis You will learn about basic business concepts while trying to maximize your profits at www.coolmath- games.com/lemonade .
