Defiance Elementary PTO Meeting Minutes February 16, 2011

The meeting was called to order by Stacy. Those attending included: Heather Moats, Stacy Adams, Audrey Stambaugh, Tina Batt, Tonya Briseno, Ladonna Maynard, Amy Perna, Marjean Mottashed, Erica Robarge, Chad Bassett, Sheri Steyer, Deanne Held and Julanne Luderman.

Heather reviewed the January PTO meeting minutes.

Treasurer Audrey reported that we had a refund from Kleinhen and paid out the remaining teacher stipends during January. We are currently $214 in the black for the year. The Father/Daughter dance money would be an additional source of revenue as well.

Father/Daughter Dance Melissa was unable to attend the meeting and Heather gave the report. Dance went great with about 500 people in attendance. The dance was moved to the gymnasium and it worked out wonderful. The photography went smoother this year and the food estimate was good as well. All of the comments received have been positive. We estimate the profit to be about $1000. WAY TO GO MELISSA! Thanks for all of your hard work.

Fall Fundraiser Heather will set-up a meeting with Dave Scott from Kleinhen to review the new brochures for 2011 and discuss fundraising options. She will advise of the date and time if anyone would like to attend.

Putting on the Hits The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 5. It has been moved to the Auditorium downtown to allow for additional seating. Erica is coordinating the popcorn and drinks for the 3-5 show during school on Friday, March 4.

Night of the Arts This will be held on Thursday, March 10. The PTO will be providing punch, coffee and cookies for the event. Stacy is coordinating this and will get some volunteers to work the event.

Mother/Son Bowling This event is being planned for Saturday, April 30. Heather and Melissa are working on the times, registration form, food, decorations and possibly a photographer. Ladonna and Stacy said they would help with this event as well. More details to follow at the March meeting.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. in the library. The carnival committee will meet prior to that at 5:00 p.m.
