MESSAGE FROM THE ADMIN TEAM Dear Parents and Guardians:

December was a very busy month here at Hatzic Middle/Secondary School. While our students continued to focus upon their studies, they also demonstrated their true belief in the importance of giving to others through a variety of events at our school. The ‘High Schools Have Heart’ Christmas dinner for the Mission community was a tremendous success and served over 250 people. All of the school communities donated clothing, blankets and toys which were greatly appreciated by those who attended the dinner. The three high school leadership programs worked hard to ensure that the day was successful for all involved. ABORIGINAL CORNER – January, 2015

Happy New Year to all our students here at Hatzic. A huge highlight for us is the signing of our new Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement 2014-2019. This was a busy time for us, preparing and getting give away items ready to hand out at the Signing. We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful and artistic students in our school. We had several students come forward to share their talents with us. Connie and I {Ramona} are here to support a wonderful community at Hatzic. Lunchtime is no exception, we have on average 40 students who come through our rooms during the lunch hour, whether it is to grab a bite to eat, catch up on some work, use the computers or just to sit and socialize with peers. It is very busy. Connie and I are working on crafts based on ideas that students have brought forward. We are looking forward to start crafting more with our students and share teachings and stories with each other. Connie was able to take a group of our students on a tour of UFV, to introduce them to College and University. They were from the grad program grades 10-12. This allowed the students to ask questions and get a glimpse of furthering their education.
