Jenn & Raul's Wedding Schedule

Greetings all. We hope this schedule will help keep everyone on track. The most important items to be aware of are the bus pick up times. If there are any changes or additions to the schedule, we will have updated copies available at the various hotels.

In Monterrey most guests will be at the Radisson Ancira or the Howard Johnson. These hotels are only a few blocks from one another so if you are looking for someone, they are probably not far.

Many of you have asked about weather. Monterrey weather is famously unpredictable, but in the last week it has been hot with highs in the 90's and lows in the 60's. Thunderstorms are normal. Out in Parras, where the wedding will be held, it tends to be cooler with highs in the 80's. This is the desert and at night it can sometimes get windy and chilly with temperatures in the low 50's. Ladies, please bring shawls or sweaters just in case.

1:10 PM First group of Texans arrive at Monterrey Airport A bus will pick up this group. The driver will be holding a sign that says Lufkin/Boda de Jenn y Raul.

4:00 PM 2nd Group of Texans arrive; Jenn's family arrives. A bus will pick up both groups. The driver will be holding a sign that says Yun/Gutierrez/Lufkin.

6:30-8:30 P Cocktails at Carapan Carapan is a folk art gallery on the street running next to the Radisson Ancira Hotel. It is half a block from the hotel and is and easy to find. Ask the concierge in the hotel how to get there. If you are reading this, you are invited to cocktails.

Dress for cocktails is casual. No jackets or ties required.

7:30 PM Buses will pick up guests and transport them to the Rehearsal Dinner at the Club Industrial. All out of town guests are invited to the Rehearsal Dinner. Dress is semi-formal (jacket & tie for men, cocktail dresses for women) If you miss the bus, have someone at the hotel write directions to the Club Industrial on a sheet of paper for a Taxi driver. The fare should be around 100 pesos (about $10).

8:00 PM Rehearsal Dinner at the Club Industrial

10:00ish Busses will leave the Club Industrial when the dinner starts to wind down. If you would like to leave early someone at the Club can call a cab.

09:00AM First bus from Monterrey to Parras. This bus will stop at the Howard Johnson and at the Radisson Ancira. We have 20 people signed up for this bus and will have a signup sheet at the rehearsal dinner. This bus will arrive in Parras at around noon.

10:00 AM Final busses from Monterrey to Parras. Two busses will pick guests at the Howard Johnson and at the Radisson Ancira. These buses will arrive in Parras around 1:00PM

12:00-1:00 Hotel Check-ins; Once you arrive in Parras, you will have a few hours to explore, catch some lunch, and relax. We are looking into arranging a bus trip to the various sites in town.

3:30 PM Portraits of the Wedding Party/ Families at Hacienda San Lorenzo. If you are involved in this we will provide full details privately.

6:00 PM Busses to the Church San Niño de Atoche. There is no way to walk to the church, so you will have to take one of the busses or catch a ride with someone in Raul's family (many of whom will be at the hotels). All three busses will pick up guests at around 6:00.

Wedding attire: Most men will be in suits or black tie. Women will be in formal attire. As this is Mexico formal has a broad interpretation so don't stress out.

6:30 PM The wedding!

7:30 PM Busses will take everyone from the church to the Hacienda San Lorenzo (about 10 minutes away).

7:00-9:00P Pre-wedding cocktails.

9:00P Reception Dinner Dancing until all hours.

Shuttles will be available to take guests to the hotels. Late at night we will run the busses for big groups.

On Sunday there will be a series of busses going from Parras all the way back to the airport in Monterrey. We will have sign up sheets for the various busses. If we need to move the times around to accommodate people's schedules, we will. As it now stands, we have the following transportation planned.

6:00 AM Van departs for Monterrey airport for the 3 of you with 9:45 AM flights. Brutal. 3 spots free as of 3/23/03

7:00 AM Van departs for Monterrey airport for the 6 of you with 11:00 AM flights. This van is full.

8:00 AM Bus pickup. This bus arrives at Monterrey airport at 11:00 AM.

10:00 AM Bus pickup. This bus arrives at Monterrey airport at 1:00 PM.

11:30 AM Bus pickup. This bus arrives at Monterrey airport at 2:30 PM (depending on guests schedules we might move the departure to make it earlier. We will have a much better sense of this after the rehearsal dinner.)

We will be arranging rides with family for those of you returning to Monterrey for Monday departures.

For those of you staying in Parras for an extra day or two, it will be possible to hire a car to get back to the Monterrey airport. The fee is around $80 (you will have to negotiate).
