PRINCE GEORGE MINOR HOCKEY

EXECUTIVE MEETING -- Jan. 26, 2009

PRESENT: Sonya Urbanski, Shawn Rice, Bill Van Helvoirt, Trish Lazar, Greg Kelner, Jas Raju, Alec Hartney, Brian Hards, Kevan Brienen, Leilani Moleschi, Dawn Bursey, Audrey Foster

ABSENT: Jane Newman, Steve Etter, Franco Gomes, Gary Young

M/S/C Bill - Leilani ~~ to accept the minutes of the Jan. 5, 2009 meeting

BUSINESS FROM THE MINUTES:

Eight hotel rooms have been reserved for the AGM in Vancouver

FINANCIAL REPORT:

M/S/C Sonya – Shawn to accept the financial report as presented by Dawn

DISCIPLINE REPORT:

Shawn gave a report on what has been happening with the discipline committee. Summaries will be put into the individual files. The Executive fully support the recommendation to release a player and give him a pro rated refund for the remainder of the season back to the date that he was released from the team.

CORRESPONDENCE:

1. City of Prince George – Overdue Invoice for ice rental for Women’s Fall Festival Dawn will check this out to see if it has been paid. 2. Jodi Cutway – Requesting refund of her son’s registration fees due to him being injured.M/S/C Sonya – Dawn to give a pro rated refund 3. Ralph Posteraro – Regarding PG Cougars for bus usage. We will put an ad in the newspaper and have Kevan write a letter near the end of the season. 4. Cheryl Soucie – Requesting permission to have second sponsor for their team in order to save the parents the cost of tournament entry. Sponsor monies go to PGMHA not the team. A donation can be made to the team but the business can not have their logo or name put on any part of the uniform, equipment or jackets that have the PGMHA logo or cresting. Jas to contact Cheryl. 5. Hockey Canada – Requesting name of one Safety person to be recognized. 6. Cathy Mason – BC Hockey District Director – Citizen Article and no BC Hockey sanctioning. Kevan will contact Cathy to let her know how this all came about. 7. Craig Brennan – Requesting his team’s coach be released from the BC Hockey suspension so he can continue to coach the team. PGMHA is not in charge of BC Hockey suspensions. Bill to contact. 8. Joseph Kerkhof – Same as above 9. Renzo Berra – Recommendation to have Bantam player moved to Midget division. This was taken into consideration during the Discipline committee report. PRINCE GEORGE MINOR HOCKEY

10.Trish – Wanting clarification as to how to handle the shortage of players on a club team. Trish instructed to call all coaches and get a list of names of who should be a good candidate to be moved up. Then she can move the top player. 10. BC Hockey – Resolutions and Notice of Motion for AGM 11. Sid Juanda – Heather Park Middle School – Requesting circulation of flyer. We will disribute 12. Rayna Kelner – Asking if PGMHA is interested in hosting a Female Jamboree in March. Dawn will contact Rayna to discuss it. If we can find enough ice then PGMHA will support it.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Criminal Record Checks – Will add a deadline date in the policy manual. 2. Skate A Thon – Audrey to set up a meeting with the Kinsmen President
