PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 SECTION INCLUDES

1.A. Bio-based liquid etching and cleaning compound for vertical or horizontal cementitious substrates requiring proper surface preparation for optimum porosity and bonding.

1.4 SUBMITTALS

4.A. Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including: 4.A.1. Preparation instructions and recommendations. 4.A.2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 4.A.3. Installation methods.

4.B. Supply two (2-ounce) samples of selected product for visual inspection and acceptance as applied on designated substrate surface.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

5.A. Regulatory Requirements: Products shall comply with federal, state, and local volatile organic compounds (VOC) regulations.

5.B. Mock-Ups: Provide material for mock-ups specified in affected sections to determine applicable dilution ratios, dwell time, surface profile level and installation procedures.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

6.A. Store products of this section in manufacturer's unopened packaging until installation.

6.B. Maintain storage area conditions for products of this section in accordance with manufacturer's instructions until installation.

1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS

7.A. For best results use product to surfaces above 50 degrees F (10 degrees C) or below 100 degrees F (37.78 degrees C) unless recommended by the manufacturer.

An organic bio-based non-corrosive, non-hazardous, biodegradable material that does not contain oxalic, phosphoric, hydrochloric or muriatic acid. 2.A.1. >50% Bio-based content 2.A.2. PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

1.A. Verify that substrates to receive product are prepared in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

3.2 PREPARATION

2.A. Protect adjacent surfaces to prevent accidental application to surfaces not indicated to receive product; remove accidental applications from surfaces immediately, following manufacturer's instructions.

2.B. Preparation of existing surfaces: 2.B.1. Remove all surface sealers, coatings, curing compounds that prohibit proper reaction of product. Completely remove all residue if chemical stripping is required. 2.B.2. If degreasing is necessary to remove excess grease, oils, etc that prohibit etching and cleaning, use bio-based Soy-It Industrial Degreaser Concentrate.

3.3 APPLICATION

3.A. Apply product in accordance with manufacturer's instructions for indicated project condition. Foaming must occur upon contact and visible micro pores to a CSP-1 profile is to be achieved.

3.B. Apply etching compound on the following compatible cementitious surfaces: 3.B.1. Cast-in-place concrete surfaces. ArchSpec.EcoEtch.1015.2

3.B.2. Tilt-up concrete panel surfaces. 3.B.3. Brick masonry surfaces.
