For HSSF Printed Program inclusion a COMPLETED Confirmation Form is needed by: Fri., Dec 18, 2015 @2PM. (Please type out or print clearly) Scenes Each School may bring up to three (3) Scenes. There is no limit to number of characters per scene. No Monologues. Scene Time Limit - We ask that scenes be limited to approximately 10 minutes – scenes CANNOT exceed 15 minutes. Props for Each performance space will have four standard chairs, two blocks of various sizes and a table. You may Scenes bring hand properties, but please don't bring large properties or furniture. Costumes You may bring costumes and we will have costume racks available, however please know that we cannot guarantee the security of the items you bring. Sound If you wish to use any taped sound effects or music, please bring your own playback devices to insure proper Effects / amplification. Please know that the scene competition emphasizes the action not the technical support. Music Morning Each school/students will be given their scene competition time slots, programs, maps and performance Registration locations at registration. We will attempt not to overlap scenes performed by the same school. & Each school is required to sit together during Orientation. If you missed the printed program deadline of Orientation 1/4/16, you must have (2) copies of each scene’s cast list with the title and name of each student performing. This gives our judges the opportunity to recognize and select our All-star cast. HSSF The Theatre Green Room will be a Hospitality Suite / Faculty Lounge. It will be off limits to students. Providing Participant you an opportunity to meet with your colleagues so that you may share ideas and methods for teaching Faculty theatre. Our faculty will drop in to meet all of you and talk about how we can assist each other in the future. Lounge Competition There will be Two (2) Judges assigned to each performance space as well as A Stage Manager and an Procedures Assistant Stage Manager. In the morning, Scenes will be presented in Round Robin competitions, and then the top two scenes from each performance space will be advanced to the finals, which will be held in the University Theatre that afternoon. Judge evaluation work sheets will be available to instructors following the Awards presentation. Professional No entering or exiting of performance space will be permitted during a scene. To allow preparation time for Courtesy actors -- no noise will be permitted between scenes. During performances hallways outside the Guidelines performance areas will be quiet zones. Teachers will be responsible for the behavior of their students during the evening session. Workshops While not slotted to perform, the participants have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of workshops including: How To Audition Comedy Improv Playwriting Scenic Design Stage Combat Stage Make-Up or Costuming Techniques  Tech Events require no special skills and can be enjoyed by actors and technicians alike. Each event will be judged Olympics on the most accurate and fastest time. Awards will be given for the best-combined score in each event and the best overall score for all four events. Students enjoy cheering on their peers in feats of technical skill. Schools with a large number of students attending may want to have several teams. Equipment and materials will be supplied. During this raucous time, competitors vie in “Olympic” style against a clock in events such: Costume Quick Change, Properties Scene Change Lighting Instrument Hang and FocusFlat Scenery Running and Lashing

Scholarship We offer audition and portfolio review slots for prospective Cal Poly students interested in our departmental Auditions scholarships. This event is a closed event and prior registration is required. Finalist & In the afternoon, finalists are announced. Finalists compete in the University Theatre for the last round of Awards judging (in front of entire high school student audience) culminating in the awards presentations. Workshops and Competitions will take place in various identified rooms in the Theatre (Bldg. 25) and in the Bronco Student Center , which is adjacent to the Theatre Bldg.,

Restaurants are located in the BSC Bldg. (35) lower level food court and in the Campus Center Bldg. (97) across – north of the Theatre Bldg.
