St Joseph's College, Assembly Programme, Autumn Term 2013

The assembly programme gives you information about our weekly school assemblies. Themes have been suggested and linked to biblical references and interwoven, where appropriate, with feasts, liturgical seasons, or other significant events

Included in the Liturgical Calendar is a section containing other information, such as specific saints feast days. These could be built into your prayer time with your form. You may find the following websites useful! www.prayingeachday.org (website to develop theme and with relevant search engines). www.culham.ac.uk (collective worship) www.cafod.org.uk (lots of resources for worship and assemblies.) http://www.openbible.info/topics/a (type in a word and get a biblical reference) and http://www.natre.org.uk/music/themes.php (links to themed secular music)

Suggested hymns are added to the programme. The number is in read and the key is at the bottom of the rota. The Music Department can accompany your selection, but please let them know in advance which hymn you would like if it is not the one on the programme. Also a laptop, screen and projector are always available if required

All the attached are only suggestions for assemblies. What is important is that each class has the opportunity to present an assembly to their yeargroup, and that each assembly has a liturgical input.

I and the RE teachers are more than happy to help staff and students to plan, resource and rehearse assemblies and give assistance, if required

If you have any questions, worries or queries, please do ask.
