Resource25

PURPOSE: This program is used by the Registrar’s Office as well as the Conference Center to schedule events into spaces here on and off campus. The documentation for this is located in \\appserv\rs25\w2k\\R25 Documents\Version 3.2 because there is no way that I can really put five years into one page.

PROGRAM NAME AND LOCATION: This program is generally loaded onto the hardrive, but can be accessed across the network at \\appserv\rs25\w2k\R25V3.2\r25start.exe after first installing the minimal items using \\appserv\rs25\w2k\R25V3.2\r25menu.exe. It needs an Oracle SQLNet install so that there is an ODBC setup in order to run the reports and tnsnames.ora gets set up correctly. Once it is installed, then you need to go to Start | All Programs | R25v3.2 | Configure. To configure to the production (R25P) database, select the following option: Start  Same user name and password (Next)  Oracle (Next)  SQL*Net 9  Oracle 8.1 (until it is upgraded to 9!) (Next) R25P (Next) r25report (then click ODBC and make sure that there is a setup in System DSN for r25report with the correct Oracle Driver) and also click on Configure reports for this datasource \\appserv\rs25\w2k\R25Text\text_comments (Next) Apply Finish

To configure to the test (R25T) database, use the above steps replacing R25P with R25T.

OTHER RESOURCES: This program requires access to the proper directory on appserv server. The user access should be added via Active Directory into the r25users group. Additionally, there are a couple of “On Request” VCAL jobs that run in Banner Job Submission as well as various SQL written to load tables from R25 information. If the Registrar’s Office needs spaces loaded from R25 to Banner, check out the following documentation: \\maxwell_fs\Infoserv\CIS Team\ChrisL\Loading Classes From R25 into Banner.doc. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The program is set up via software provided by CollegeNet. It requires a userid and password to login. Currently, we have a 33 user license with one used for the webviewer seat. The license generally expires in July and needs to be renewed. After receiving a P.O., CollegeNet will send the license which will need to be loaded as follows: Log into R25 Administration License Update… Enter license string into appropriate area and click Update.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS: Jim Hallenbeck is the System Administrator for R25, however, if there is a technical problem, then contact [email protected].
