Dad’s PET care PRESENTS The 28th Pennsylvania State Championship Stock Dog Trials Sheepy Hollow Farm, Hop Bottom, Pennsylvania Please note change, the Open classes will run on Saturday and Sunday as usual, Novice classes will run Monday and Tuesday June 20 & 21, 2009 OPEN Trials June 22 & 23, 2009 NOVICE Trials Qualifying trials for The Northeast Border Collie Association The U.S. Border Collie Handlers Association ****************************************************************************************** **TWO ONE-DAY OPEN TRIALS** June 20 & 21, 2009 Judge Tom Lacy Handlers may enter three dogs. If entries warrant, this may be reduced to two dogs. TIME: A pre-trial briefing will be held at daybreak Saturday and at daybreak on Sunday.

**TWO ONE-DAY NOVICE TRIALS* June 22 & 23, 2009 Judge Dawn Boyce NOVICE/NOVICE; PRO/NOVICE; RANCH; USBCHA NURSERY No limit on the number of dogs entered but only two may place. (A limit may be imposed if entries warrant)

Since Optigen now has “discount days” we will not hold a clinic at the trial. Currently Optigen has discount days scheduled on May 13-19, 2009 - Spring Discount Days and July 14-20, 2009 - Summer Discount Days. Please go to www.optigen.com for details.

************************************************************************************************************** EYE CLINIC: Dr. Thomas Kern from Cornell University on Sun, June 21, 2009 beginning around 9:30 a.m. No pre-registration is necessary. This exam meets the requirements for the USBCHA finals. A regular eye test by Dr. Kern will check for CEA, PRA and other diseases of the eye as well. FOOD: The First Universalist Church will again provide refreshment including breakfast and lunch and the Famous Chicken Barbecue. Prepay not necessary, first come, first serve at the food tent. The Lathrop Township Historical Society will have food & snacks available on Monday and Tuesday during the novice classes.

LODGING: Camping will be allowed for handlers and their families at the farm for tents, campers, or motor homes, no hookups.

Motels: Kindly make your own reservations: The following motels are within traveling distance:

1. Nichols Village: 570-587-1135 18 miles south on Rt.11 at Clarks Summit. Exit 194. Higher rates but nice. Will accept dogs in efficiency rooms.

2. Colonial Brick: 570-879-2162. Exit 223 off Rt. 81 at Hallstead. 18 miles north on Rt. 11. No dogs in rooms.

3. Days Inn: 570-586-1141. 18 miles south on Rt. 11 at Clarks Summit. Exit 194 off Rt 81

4. Summit Inn: 570-586-1211. 18 miles south on Rt. 11 At Clarks Summit. Exit 194 off Rt. 81. Accepts Dogs.

5. Ramada Inn: 570-586-2730. 18 miles south on Rt. 11 at Clarks Summit. Exit 194. Accepts dogs.

6. All Seasons Motel and Campground 12 miles north on Rt 11. 570-465-3900.

Campgrounds:

1.Shore Forest Manor in Hop Bottom. 570-289-4666.

CHURCH SERVICES: Handlers and their families are invited to attend church services to be held on Sunday under the tent at Sheepy Hollow with the Rev. Ralph Christensen of the Universalist Church officiating.

DIRECTIONS:

Got a GPS?, you can now go to google maps, search for Sheepy Hollow Farm, Hop Bottom , select the farm and send the location to your Garmin, Clarion, Insignia, Pioneer or TomTom. Please make sure you select Sheepy Hollow in Hop Bottom, PA.

A. Traveling south on Rt. 81-take exit 223 at New Milford. Go south on Rt. 11 for 12 miles to Hop Bottom. Watch for signs. Turn right at the blinker light in Hop Bottom. Left on Greenwood St. then 1 mile to Sheepy Hollow Farm on the left.

B. Traveling north on Rt. 81-take exit 194 for Clarks Summit. Pick up Rt. 11 north . Go north on Rt. 11 approximately 18 miles to Hop Bottom. Watch for signs. As above.

Please enter me in the Pennsylvania State Championship Stock dog Trials to be held on June 20, 21, 22 and 23, 2009 In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims I may have to damages against the First Universalist Church of Brooklyn, their agents, and representatives, and the owner of the grounds on which each trial is held, as well all persons sponsoring or participating, for any injuries which may be suffered by me or my dog during this gathering and trials. Livestock injured during my participation will be paid for by the participant.

Checks will not be cashed before June 3, 2009.There will be no refunds after June 3, 2009 unless extreme emergency!

PLEASE NOTE: If entries warrant, number of dogs per handler may be reduced to two dogs per handler or a limit may be imposed in any class. Postmark date of entry will be a determining factor. Handlers will be notified.
