The Meeting Was Called to Order at 8:30 and the Pledge of Allegiance Was Recited

The Mitchell County Commissioners met in formal session on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room of the Mitchell County Courthouse. Present were Chairman Tom Claussen and members Jim Marshall, and Mike Cooper. Also present were Rebecca Gray, Beloit Call; Terry Bailey, KVSV Radio; Chad Hallack, KDNS Radio; and Heather Hartman, Community Development Director. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The minutes of the October 26, 2015 meeting was approved as written on motion by Jim Marshall and seconded by Mike Cooper. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Casey Fraser, Sales Representative for Foley Tractor, brought calendars and hats in appreciation for Mitchell County’s business with their company. A Cereal Malt Beverage License was approved for K&N Pizza Hut on motion by Jim Marshall and seconded by Mike Cooper. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Jay Rowh was reappointed to the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging Board on motion by Jim Marshall and seconded by Mike Cooper. Motion carried by unanimous vote. A Neighborhood Revitalization Application was approved for Michael F Corpstein in the amount of $345,000 on motion by Mike Cooper and seconded by Jim Marshall. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Public Works Director Larry Emerson and Secretary Karm Princ met with the commission and requested a 20-minute executive session for trade secrets of a corporation which was granted on motion by Jim Marshall and seconded by Mike Cooper. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Session began at 9:00 and ended at 9:20 when it was extended 10-minutes on motion by Jim Marshall and seconded by Mike Cooper. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Session ended at 9:30 with no decisions made in executive session. Mr. Emerson also reported that work is still progressing on the K-Rd Bridge. They will be striping roads today and tomorrow and will need to complete the shoo-fly for the bridge replacement near Brian Jordan’s house. Treasurer Yvonne Melton and Appraiser Melinda Latham met with the commission and presented a letter for those enrolled in the Neighborhood Revitalization Program of the mocifications made to the program requirements that will be sent with tax statements. The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 on motion by Jim Marshall and seconded by Mike Cooper. Motion carried by unanimous vote
