Technology and Organizational Support

3. What is/are the main function(s) or purpose(s) of your technology?

4. Include one concise, clear paragraph describing what your technology is and what it is intended to do.

5. Give any details that will help us determine how to use it. FOR EXAMPLE:  What is the best utilization of your technology?  Is there a best location or physical geography for your technology?  Any other appropriate/necessary details so we can properly use and assess your technology.  Are you willing or interested in having the Red Cell use your technology?

6. Which focus area does your technology address? Please see the 1-6 of the ART/TSOA slides.

7. What new capability (or improvement to existing capability) does this represent to the war fighter?

8. Are there any safety concerns with your technology?

9. Which, if any, government organizations fund this technology?

Required Resources

10.How many individuals are required to operate your technology? You will have table space for your people/technologies in our Integration tent. We ask that you limit the number of people to no more than 5 in order to accommodate everyone.

11.How many people will need to sit in the experimental operations center (EOC/TOC)? How many computers will you need there?

12.How many large-screen displays will you require to display live data?

13.Will you require generators? If so, how many kilowatts of power do you require?

14.Do you need a UAS for payload?

15.What other requirements do you have that are not mentioned?

Radio Frequencies

16.We try to give every participant a clean Radio Frequency environment to work in; this information will be used to remove as much confliction as possible with other experiments that may be going on and hopefully prevent any radio interference problems.

17.What specific frequencies do you require?

18.What is the power output of your radio devices?

19.Do you require a Remote Site? If so, what support is required at the Remote Site?

a. Remote Power b. Internet Network Access c. Experiment Network Access d. Radio e. Other Network

20.Do you plan to conduct your experiment as a standalone system or participate on the TSOA Network? 21.Does your equipment connect to other devices? How does it connect? For example, does it have an Ethernet cord or jack, a serial port, USB, Fire wire, fiber, etc.?

22.How quickly does it transmit or receive data? Which words are most appropriate: kilobit, megabit, gigabit, etc.?

23.Does your equipment need its own network? This means does it have to work behind a gateway device like a router or firewall where information must be translated via Network Address Translation (NAT) or Port Address Translation (PAT). An example of a device that requires its own network is your home computer. It must live behind your modem or router to get to the internet. Your home computer does have an IP address, but not one that can be found by anything outside of your house. Its IP is used to talk directly with your home devices, such as your laptop, cell phone or TV.

24.Does your equipment require Internet access?

25.Does your equipment utilize any sort of multicast communication?

26.Is your equipment IP addressable? If so, can that IP be changed?

27.Does your equipment require multiple IP addresses and if so, how many?

28.Can your equipment send or receive Cursor on Target (CoT)? If so, does that information make full use of your equipment or is the data “scaled down” to fit into a CoT message?

Experiment Plans

29.Experiment Objective. What goals do you have for this technology at this particular TSOA?

30.Description of Experiment:

31.Measurements/Data Collection Plan:

32.Measures of Performance/Measures of Effectiveness:

33.What general changes have you made to this technology since you last attended TSOA? (if applicable)

34.Why were these changes implemented?

JVAB Assessments

35.Have you had a JVAB assessment done at a previous TSOA?

a. If so, what have you changed since then, related to RF/CNS?

UNCLASSIFIED / FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY 4 UNCLASSIFIED / FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY

36.Would you like to request a JVAB assessment? (Please be aware that you may have one even if you do not request it).

Network Disclaimer: The TSOA network is a non-production network and does NOT have uniform security requirements or accreditation across all systems that use it. Network and traffic monitoring may also occur at any time as part of individual experiments or to collect network performance data. Computer and network security measures should be managed by each participant as is appropriate to the systems and information being used in each experiment. Participants should inform the network engineering team of any specific network security issues or requirements prior to the experiment.

Legal Disclaimers or Issues: All participation is at the participant’s own risk. By attending you agree that you will hold harmless the United States Government and the California National Guard for any and all liabilities.

ITAR Disclaimers or Issues: Each participant is responsible for complying with any and all ITAR/EARS requirements associated with the participant’s equipment. Similarly, participants are responsible for the protection of their own intellectual property.
