Mississippi State University Solo and Ensemble Festival

Ensemble Registration Mississippi State University Solo and Ensemble Festival Saturday, May 12th, 2018 – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Student Application - Due Date: April 20th 2018 The festival is for middle and high school students who are in their second year of performance experience and beyond. High school juniors are also invited to perform their college audition repertoire for feedback and coaching. All ensembles will perform for a panel of judges to receive comments on their performance. Several outstanding performances will be invited to join the afternoon festival concert. Please return this form (pages 1 and 2) with a check for $20 per ensemble member made out to the Mississippi State University Department of Music. Please note that the maximum fee is $20 for an individual participating in more than one performance. Mail to: Solo and Ensemble, Mississippi State University, Department of Music, P.O. Instruments included: violin, viola, cello, string bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, French horn, trumpet, baritone/euphonium, trombone, tuba, piano, and percussion. Ensembles may include up to eight players.

Percussionists: Only the instruments indicated below can be provided by MSU. Other equipment can possibly be supplied if the director communicates his/her needs by April 20th. (1) 4.3 octave marimba (low A), (1) vibraphone, (1) glockenspiel with stand, (1) chimes, (4) timpani (32” 29” 26” 23”) (1) concert snare drum with stand

Each student must have his/her parent or guardian submit the following information:

PARENT/GUARDIAN APPROVAL (print and sign) My child has no medical conditions that will keep him/her from participating in the full range of activities planned. By applying to MSU Solo and Ensemble Festival I grant permission to MSU to seek medical treatment in the event of medical emergency and act according to their best judgment regarding medical attention. My child is covered under my health insurance, and I do hereby release and discharge MSU and its employees/staff from any claims, demands, and actions on account of any injury to my child that may occur in route or during any part of this activity.
