3 Commuter Train Derailment at Nims City 5

Date: Time: Weather: Today Now 45 degrees and raining

The 4:50P.M. commuter train loaded with more than 900 passengers and traveling at an estimated speed of 65 mph derails on a section of track that was under repair near the railroad crossing on Church Street. The train consists of an three engines pulling seventeen cars. The three engines and the first five cars have careened into an unoccupied school, two cars remain upright on the track but are resting against power lines. The other cars are laying on both sides the track.

Background: Several calls have been received by your station. The train left ICS Junction en route to Nims City. The Chief is at the Convention in Toledo, Ohio.
