The Limes Play Co-ordinator Hours: 37 per week Holidays: 25 days per annum (includes 3 to be taken during winter closure) Salary: £23,882 Responsible to: The Director Responsible for: Project session workers

Purpose of the job

The Play Co-ordinator is responsible for planning & delivering developmentally appropriate, creative activities at The Limes for children and young people. Accountable to the Director, you will lead and develop the services aimed at children and young people to ensure that the strategic vision becomes a reality. The Play co-ordinator will work with the Director to ensure the development of user involvement and to ensure that our services reflect the core values of inclusion and support the whole family.

Responsibilities The Play Co-ordinator will be responsible to the Director for the efficient co-ordination & delivery of their allocated services, and for monitoring and reporting to our funders and donors. Coordinators will be expected to work together to ensure the smooth running of services.

MAIN DUTIES: 1. Operations  Ensuring Play projects maintain an effective level of operational delivery through agreement and regular analysis of objectives.  The auditing of Play administration and systems in cooperation with the Operations Manager to ensure that accurate records, monitoring and evaluating records, are maintained in the Limes Centre (in which you are based).  Responsible for the safety of The Limes services for which s/he is responsible.  To contribute to the reporting to the Board of Trustees  To contribute to fundraising applications with the Director  To liaise and build links to facilitate referrals

2. Staffing  To work collaboratively with the Director & Transition Co-ordinator to: o manage the recruitment, training and development of the services staff team & volunteers o ensure the appropriate support & supervision is provided to the play work staff team o ensure that annual staff appraisals are conducted for the Services team

Finance  To work with the Operations Manager to monitor designated budgets throughout the year.  To ensure effective, efficient use of funds.  To ensure that records of audit and reports on any grants are maintained and that necessary returns are submitted on time.

4. Programming and delivery targets  To oversee & take part in the delivery of The Limes play services and associated reporting to ensure targets are achieved.  To ensure that all children and Young People’s plans & profiles are person centred and responsive to the needs of service users, including their religious, cultural and linguistic needs in collaboration with Transition co-ordinator.  Ensuring compliance with relevant (e.g. OFSTED/CMS/PQASSO/QUIP) audit requirements  To be in regular contact with parents / carers and to provide feedback on their child’s activities.  To maintain at all times a courteous, helpful and polite response to service users and to ensure that individual needs are recognised and supported.

5. Other  To become fully conversant with the philosophy, aims and objectives of The Limes working within agreed policies and procedures including health and safety procedures and anti-discriminatory practice.  To attend training, staff meetings and supervision as required.  To maintain confidentiality in relation to users, carers and staff.  To work flexibly and outside of 9 – 5 hours and at weekends on occasion.  Any other duties as may be specified by the Director.  As The Limes is run by a small team of people you would be expected to work flexibly to help out in other areas of our operations when required and be willing to play a part in the practical day to day running of the centre.
