1992-present Street Law Coordinator, Loyola University Chicago School of Law Teach Street Law seminar, conduct outreach to Chicago area high school law programs, and evaluate law students teaching substantive legal issues in high school classrooms. Coordinated workshop for undocumented wards of the state and their caseworkers, working with the ChildLaw Clinic, Street Law students, and area experts Organized Law Days with Harlan Community Academy, Von Steuben Metropolitan Science Center, Hales Franciscan High School, and Thornton Township High School, involving law students, graduates, and other legal experts Coordinated Street Law and Loyola volunteer involvement in Chicago Democracy Week, disseminating information regarding the new 17-year-old suffrage law, working with the Chicago Lawyers Committee on Civil Rights Under Law, the City of Chicago, and other partnering organizations Organized Street Law and Loyola volunteer involvement in Constitution Day, working with the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Chicago Coordinated with Street Law, Inc. on a law related education program for Whitney Young students, involving Loyola students and attorneys from Jenner & Block and GE, and covering topics of workplace harassment, the environment, and trademarks Coordinated , with Loyola law student leader, a group of 17 Loyola law students who presented lessons and led discussions on sexual assault in high school and on college campuses during Whitney Young High School’s “Focus on Us” Day

1994 - present Director, Law Related Education, Cook County Juvenile Detention Center Developed curriculum and program; continue to coordinate law students who adapt and teach law related lessons to detention center residents, reaching over 150 juvenile detention center residents each school year

2005-present Advocate and Consultant, Young Center at the University of Chicago Serve as an advocate and consultant for assessing best interest recommendations for undocumented children detained at Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) shelter. Participate in conferences regarding best interest decisions for undocumented children
1993-1998 Chief, Bureau of Community Review: Office of the Inspector General, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Coordinated responses to Requests for Investigation made to the Inspector General, including review of documents, issuance of subpoenas, analysis of casework practices and Department rules and procedures; developed recommendations for the Director of DCFS and drafted reports for the Illinois General Assembly.
1991-1993 Staff Attorney: Children's Rights Project, Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago Represented children and parents in individual cases in juvenile court. Participated in negotiations regarding consent decree for class of adolescent parents who were wards of the state. Developed advocacy strategies regarding treatment for juvenile sexual offenders, representation of indigent parents in juvenile court, and public benefits for homeless adolescents.
1990-1991 Associate: Stephen Seliger, Ltd., Drafted memoranda of law and pleadings and interviewed clients regarding race and sex discrimination class action employments lawsuits.
1987-1990 Staff Attorney: Cook County Office of the Public Guardian Represented abused and neglected children in individual and class action cases in Cook County Juvenile Court and United States District Court. Drafted complaints and motions, wrote legal briefs and memoranda. Prepared and presented evidentiary hearings in Juvenile Court. Supervised staff attorneys, investigators, and law students. Organized outreach effort to Department of Mental Health psychiatric facilities and Department of Children and Family Services residential facilities to assess services provided to adolescent residents.
