CLASS 9 Awards for All Junior Intro – 60cm – Level 1 - No Lead Reins but outside assistance allowed (16 and under) Class aimed at true beginners. This class is for ponies only – no horses. Combination not to be competing in any jumping competition at height higher than 65cm.

The course may be walked dismounted from 2pm on Friday 9th September 2016

NO DOGS ALLOWED

This competition will be run under Pony Club Eventing Rules 2016.

All competitors must have their forms signed by their DC or Secretary – unsigned entries will not be accepted. Open competitors must have 3rd Party Cover and sign accordingly.

AGE: - at 1st January 2016

Fences marked with a red L mean that this is a slightly easier option for your class and can be jumped for a 15pt penalty. This is usually marked with a plain disk of your class colour and a red L.

Beginners – Combination of horse/pony and rider not to have been placed 1 – 3 in any competition, which included cross country course more than a total of three times.

Novice - Combination of horse and rider not to have been placed 1 – 3 in any competition at this level which includes a cross country course more than a total of three times.

Competitors may continue at the judge’s discretion after first elimination at a fence but must give way to following competitors. After 2nd elimination competitor must retire at a walk. Fall of horse/pony results in compulsory retirement and competitor must walk from the course. Second fall of rider results in compulsory retirement. If there is any doubt as to the fitness of a competitor following a fall then the judge will ask them to retire.

Outside assistance is forbidden except in class 9 where verbal assistance only may be allowed. Help to catch a pony, adjust saddlery and remount after a fall is allowed in all classes.

Tack will be inspected and any competitor incorrectly turned out will be allowed to compete once they comply. Any changes in tack after inspection will be disqualified from the competition.

Hats – must be worn at all times when mounted with a chinstrap fastened. Mandatory to wear a protective helmet manufactured to the minimum PC standards. Jockey Skull Caps with no fixed peak are strongly recommended for all XC classes and are compulsory for Classes 1 – 5 and also strongly recommended for lower classes. All Hats must comply with Pony Club rules and must be tagged with a Pony Club tag. If your hat does not carry an official `tag` please bring hat to the secretary’s tent when collecting your number.

Body Protectors are compulsory and they MUST conform to Beta Level 3 2009. Riders who choose to use a Woof Wear Exo body cage must lodge a key with the organisers when they collect their number.

Medical Armbands are compulsory. Must be worn on the rider’s arm or the shoulder protector /pad of their body protector.

Spurs - may only be worn with the permission of your DC on a signed membership card. Those who hold a B Test or above do not require this.

No jewellery allowed except wedding rings, Watches capable of being started, stopped and recording time are forbidden. No sleepers. No stop watches or recording devices are permitted.

Long sleeves are compulsory.

Whips – no rider may carry or use a whip that is weighted at the end or exceeds 75cm in length.

No horse or pony may compete more than once and must only be ridden by the competitors on the day of the competition. No competitor can ride more than twice.

Riders must attend Prize Giving – failure to attend will result in prizes being forfeited. Any objections to be accompanied by a £20 deposit. 2 NITHSDALE BRANCH OF THE PONY CLUB ENTRY FORM – OPEN CROSS COUNTRY COMPETITION

Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event, nor the Pony Club, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.

The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be affective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid & prevent accidents occurring & must obey the instructions of the organisers & all officials & stewards
